Lovely wooden brown colour, with tinges of red and purple. Fairly light body, well carbonated. Flavour is of well sweetened bready malt, with hints of banana, nuts and herbs worthy of a Christmas beer. Just a bit on the weak side.

Dark chestnut colour. Flavour is dry, woody and bitter. Also has a dark malt sweetness. The flavour intensifies and improves as it comes up to temperature.

The beer has a dark opaque color. Very large gassing. Taste sweet and gives a bit of coffee. Bright herbal and coffee aftertaste, there is quite a bit bitter of hops, but it is acceptable. Good beer

A transparant, yet very dark beer with the color of butterscotch syrup. It has a fluffy, foamy top witch has a slightly brown color. It has a sweet aroma, with a slightly small hint of grain. A bitter taste, in which the grain also moves in to. It leaves a total bitter aftertaste which fills the entire mouth, and hangs on for a little while.

On tap at Paulaner im Tal, Munich. Nice brown-amber color with big small-bubbled beige head. Aroma is chocolate, caramel, some rusty nails. Taste is similar, nice malt base, no booziness, not too sweet, quite dry actually. Rather low carbonation, juicy mouthfeel. A classic, I suppose.

500cc bottle. Pours clear mahogany with beige head. It is a bit lemony, spicy , flora, caramel and malt. Taste is more bitter and less sweet than the others. Also less toasty and coffee notes. Refreshing and pleasant.
