50cl bottle poured into a dimpled mug. Dark amber brown with skimpy tan head. Aroma is definitely berries and raisins. Flavor is the same. Light carbonation. Short bitter finish. Very smooth brew. Nice. ganache (5910) - New Jersey, USA - MAY 22, 2012
Tap at the Paulaner im Spreebogen. Deep dark chestnut with ruby highlights and a soapy beige head. Beautifully malty taste, rolling and tumbling malt body, some roast and lots of red berry, some earth and chocolate around the edges, maybe some toffee. Body is light but malty and interesting, with receding sweetness and waxing bitterness in the aftertaste. A winner, I’m sad that it took me to long to find it, and in Berlin of all places. zacgillbanks (5188) - Tyne & Wear, ENGLAND - FEB 8, 2014
UPDATED: JUN 1, 2015 Bottles from Glug and Rehills Newcastle. A very dark copper coloured beer with a sweet malty and red fruity flavour, chocolate notes, currants and blackcurrant followed by a gently roasted and fruity finish. stephenco (49) - Makati, PHILIPPINES - FEB 11, 2015
Drank it draft. Beautiful deep red brown color. Malty. Could really taste the caramel. Dunkel is not really my favorite I say. stevoj (5062) - Boise, Idaho, USA - JAN 17, 2013
Nicely done dunkel from this Munich stalwart. Deep aroma of roast malt, dark brown with thin beige head. Taste is smooth a mild bitterness that lasts on the palate. One of the better Bavarian dunkers.

Half-litre in Maximilian’s, Berlin on 22 Feb 2013.
Really enjoyed this: reddy-brown colouring with a good full head of off-white foam which tried to hang around for a while.
Malty nose: woody, nutty, with caramel notes, earthy too.
The taste was also malty: bready and biscuity, not overly sweet compared to some Dunkel brews. Body depth seemed deeper than most also. Coffee and chocolate hints arrive as the beer warms a little, not that I allowed the beer to warm much, I was drinking it too fast! Obier (47) - Baden-Württemberg, GERMANY - SEP 1, 2013

Bright clear amber beer, small pale cream coloured head. Palate is smooth with fine carbonation. Smooth light malt, very.light cream. Mellow treacle and well integrated ripe orange. Even a whisper of tropical fruits here. Smooth finish, pretty drinkable.
Lovely cherry/sakura nose. Hazelnut, kirsch, bitter caramel, gentle peppery finish. Rich and flavorful classic dunkel.
