When the Original Münchner was brewed for the first time at the end of the 19th Century, it was a spectacular success. With its hoppy taste, subtle, light and elegant, it becomes ever popular. Today the Paulaner Original Münchner is the best sold Münchner Hellbier (lager beer) in the world and Paulaner's No. 1 export beer in over 30 countries with its wonderfully subtle, spicy, naturally hearty taste.

Bottle @ home. Clear hell colour, white foam. Malty, light sweet, bit watery. Light notes of cardboard. Easy drinkable. Ok Helles.

500 ml can. Clear bright golden colour, medium head with average durability, some lacing, soft carbonation. Nose is sweetish malt, cereal. Flavour is light sweet, the hoppy bitterness is dominating. Rather watery in the mouth with a short finish. Nothing special here.

(500 ml bottle) Pours a crystal-clear light golden beer, with fine carbonation, and a thin white head. The aroma is typical of a German helles: biscuit, bread, noble hops, a hint of honeycomb, and some underlying buckwheat. Sweet and crisp, with a clean bitter finish. The mouthfeel is smooth and light, making this a very refreshing beer. Overall, this is a good helles. It’s slightly more hopped than other examples I’ve tried, striking a fresh balance between bitter and sweet. Easy drinking.

Slight buttery aromas, soft corn, grainy. Clear gold with a fairly lasting white head. Pretty sweet, grainy, light grassy hops. Light bodied.

On tap in Piory Arms, Stockwell. Very clear pale amber, with a medium white foam head. Nose is light grassy, straw, sweet toasted grains, cereal malt. Taste is sweet toast grain, dried grass, straw, cereal malts, little hop bite. Got more flavour than macros. Solid lager.

JuanCC (117) - Valencia, SPAIN - MAY 27, 2017
