Pours a semi dark amber. The head about 1/2 inch and disappears in about 2 minutes. Not much lace that is sustained on the sides. Smells malty and a bit hoppy. Tastes malty with a dry finish. Not bad, but I've had better.

(draught)Very dark amber nice malt aromas with matching warm malt flavors. Slightly sweet, easy on the hops as expected. Very good O-fest

This beer had the typical maltiness of an Oktoberfest beer, however it had a weird aftertaste. It almost tastes like burnt (not smoked) malt. I know this probably won't be a popular thing to say, however I liked the Sam Adams Octoberfest better

Very fragrant, strong malt carmel taste, nice if its bought for you, but not worth extra expense.

What a tasty Oktoberfest. Paulaner is my favorite O-fest right now. The pale copper body is topped with a thin white head. Some caramel and toffee on the aroma, as well as fruit and earth. Flavor is subtle yet full, with fruity, caramely, bready malts dominant, and just a hint of earthy hops. Finely crafted, this Oktoberfest is stronger than most I've had, very bock-like.

3.5
Jedsbrew (465) - Rhineland, Missouri, USA - SEP 3, 2003
Reddish amber color with a small head, but the lacing was good throughout. Malty and lightly floral/spice aroma. Light medium in body, with caramel toffee flavors and a hint of oriental spice-anise or 5 spice powder. The finish was mild and bittersweet. A mellow and tasty brew.

BückDich (5464) - McCall, Idaho, USA - AUG 28, 2003
Slighty hazy amber color, cloudy head and sticky lacing. Lightly hoppy, more malty, slight raspberry & essence nose. Metallic malty aftertaste with a slight hop presence, very true to the style. Dusty dry finish to this maltfest. Overall I've discovered that I don't really care too much for the oktoberfest style, that or just this one. It was easy to drink though!

lovely amber color, not much of a head. aroma is malty, doughy bread and a little nacho cheese tortilla chip...don't ask. flavor is obviously malts with a sweetness that isnt unpleasant. i'm definitely a hophead, but i really do enjoy a fine Ofest, and this one isn't too bad at all.

3.3
Suttree (6392) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - AUG 23, 2003
Copper, no head. grainy malt and some smokiness and spicyness as well. Some toffee flaovrs pop up as well. I could not detect any hop flaovrs. Smooth and filling.

True amber appearance with a medium head and nice lacing. Average nose with a bread-like quality. Smooth, malty taste with just a hint of hops. The epitome of a well made Octoberfest beer.
