Very fragrant, strong malt carmel taste, nice if its bought for you, but not worth extra expense.

What a tasty Oktoberfest. Paulaner is my favorite O-fest right now. The pale copper body is topped with a thin white head. Some caramel and toffee on the aroma, as well as fruit and earth. Flavor is subtle yet full, with fruity, caramely, bready malts dominant, and just a hint of earthy hops. Finely crafted, this Oktoberfest is stronger than most I've had, very bock-like.

Reddish amber color with a small head, but the lacing was good throughout. Malty and lightly floral/spice aroma. Light medium in body, with caramel toffee flavors and a hint of oriental spice-anise or 5 spice powder. The finish was mild and bittersweet. A mellow and tasty brew.

Slighty hazy amber color, cloudy head and sticky lacing. Lightly hoppy, more malty, slight raspberry & essence nose. Metallic malty aftertaste with a slight hop presence, very true to the style. Dusty dry finish to this maltfest. Overall I've discovered that I don't really care too much for the oktoberfest style, that or just this one. It was easy to drink though!

lovely amber color, not much of a head. aroma is malty, doughy bread and a little nacho cheese tortilla chip...don't ask. flavor is obviously malts with a sweetness that isnt unpleasant. i'm definitely a hophead, but i really do enjoy a fine Ofest, and this one isn't too bad at all.

Copper, no head. grainy malt and some smokiness and spicyness as well. Some toffee flaovrs pop up as well. I could not detect any hop flaovrs. Smooth and filling.

True amber appearance with a medium head and nice lacing. Average nose with a bread-like quality. Smooth, malty taste with just a hint of hops. The epitome of a well made Octoberfest beer.

UPDATED: AUG 6, 2003 (bottled). Rich amber color, brilliantly clear. Toasty caramel, toffee aroma with a hint of contintental hops. Medium bodied with strong malt presence and rounded bitterness that balances but doesn't overshadow the malt. Less attenuated leaves a nice sweetness that adds to the malt perception. Really very nice and strongly recommended.

Color is clear amber with golden yellow tones around the edge and bottom, some white head that left patchy lace, but flatened out quickly. Smell is faint roasty malt with a hint of spicy dry hop. Flavor is good, but man, there was no real punch, I give it the benefit of the doubt, but it seemed very empty in the malt, it wasn't very easy to swallow for some reason. It has a sweetish malt that seemed a little pushed or something, maybe under cooked? Not sure what it was, but it sure bothered me. The feel too, was empty and watery, it has a drying quality but seemed to light to me. It was OK, I so wanted more from this, it was a letdown.

Probably the best lager/amber I've had to date. Aroma ismalty, very much a cereal grain smell, with very slight hints of fruitiness. Pours a dark amber color, high carbonation with no floaties at all. Head starts out healthy and beige, but dissipates very quickly. Flavor is pretty much the same as the aroma, has a suprisingly nice finish. Palate is a bit thin.
