Typical Oktoberfest beer appearance. As with most Oktoberfest beers, aroma and flavor resemble that of a doppelbock but lighter. In fact, this stuff is much less sweet and malty than the typical Oktoberfest beer (such as Spaten). Quite hoppy and pleasant.

Skinnyviking (9570) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - APR 6, 2017
Draught at Pööbel. High creamy lasting white head. Clear dark brown body. Lovely malt straw honey caramel aroma. Smooth and solid malt base with a fair amount of hops bitterness and notes of berries. Relatiively sweet though but not too sweet. Low carbonation, long sweet finish. Well balanced with an alcohol level that seems just right.

chadski (140) - California, USA - MAR 26, 2017
Nice pour with light-brown head and rich brown color. Yeasty aroma that aren’t overbearing with bready flavor that is slightly sweet.

kramer (6682) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 13, 2017
Bottle. Pours a clear copper body with a one finger frothy off-white head that retained fairly well. The nose is sweet, toasty, and slightly grainy malt with some light caramel. The flavor is a bit husky and grainy for my tastes in the style, which I didn’t expect from a ’classic’. Finishes with some lingering husky grain and very minimal bitterness. Lighter bodied with soft fizzy carbonation and a slightly sticky finish. Meh, this won’t be a recurring purchase for me.

Ritzn (1380) - GERMANY - JAN 23, 2017
Clear golden with almost no head. Aroma is normal noble hops and juicy bitter malt. Taste is slight fruit sweet malt, noble hop bitterness and fresh carbonation. Heavier than water and thirst quenching. A good one for drinking.

smroush (279) - Michigan, USA - NOV 4, 2016
Aromas are malty - sweet, bread, caramel, toffee, just a little bit of funky barnyard too, perhaps the yeast? Not much hops. Color is a pleasant clear amber with a small off-white head. Taste is fairly sweet; bitterness is very mild. Alcohol is low; body fairly light; carbonation average; finish is moderate length, sweet, bread and toffee. Overall a fairly good beer; not my favorite style, but this is an excellent example of the Oktoberfest Marzen style.

The smoothest oktoberfest without a harsh, bitterness that most have, primarily due to the Marzen
