Typical Oktoberfest beer appearance. As with most Oktoberfest beers, aroma and flavor resemble that of a doppelbock but lighter. In fact, this stuff is much less sweet and malty than the typical Oktoberfest beer (such as Spaten). Quite hoppy and pleasant.

On tap. As Paulaner Oktoberfest Marzen. Pours a clear gold with a medium, creamy, long lasting, off-white head that laces nicely. Sweet aroma of grainy malt, bread, caramel and a hint of fruit. Sweet flavour of grainy malt, bread, corn, caramel and mild fruit with a dry, mildly bitter finish. Light to medium body with an oily texture and average carbonation. Not bad.

Bottle. Dark amber orange color with a thick beige head. Aroma is sweet and malty, a little toasty and some vegetal notes. Tastes sweet, bready malt and lightly floral. Rather mild.

Bill Becker (2008) - Casper, Wyoming, USA - OCT 16, 2017
From Oct 2005 Bottle with a produced on date of 05.05 Poured a sweet looking gold with a good sized head that tamed down but remained throughout. The smell was of fresh bread, like walking into an Albertson's at 5pm. ;^) The taste was a pretty complex mix of the above mentioned bread, malt, and a tinge of a sour note which extended the after taste. A nice amber. One that I'd love to try again.

MNAle (234) - Minnesota, USA - SEP 25, 2017
Nice aroma of malts, bread, and spices. A touch of sweet fruits. Golden amber, tall off-white creamy head, receding slowly with stringy lacing. Very good flavor of bready malts, slight spice, mild with only a touch of bittering in the finish. Moderate body, not thin, not thick. It is very malty, but not sweet. Nice clean finish without being bitter at all. Very easy drinking. Excellent festival beer (and by that I mean easy to drink this one all day).

stevoj (5878) - Boise, Idaho, USA - SEP 19, 2017
Draft at PreFunk. A but if a let down after some other märzens. Darker amber, grainy chemical aroma. Oily. Corn and cooked veggies. Slick, and sweet. They should be able to do much better.

omikr0n (974) - Prague, CZECH REPUBLIC - SEP 17, 2017
On tap at Czech Inn. Pours clear golden with thin white head. Aroma is malt, hay. Taste is sweet with malt, hay, hint of hops.
