2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Pours a clear copper body with a one finger frothy off-white head that retained fairly well. The nose is sweet, toasty, and slightly grainy malt with some light caramel. The flavor is a bit husky and grainy for my tastes in the style, which I didn’t expect from a ’classic’. Finishes with some lingering husky grain and very minimal bitterness. Lighter bodied with soft fizzy carbonation and a slightly sticky finish. Meh, this won’t be a recurring purchase for me.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Aromas are malty - sweet, bread, caramel, toffee, just a little bit of funky barnyard too, perhaps the yeast? Not much hops.
Color is a pleasant clear amber with a small off-white head.
Taste is fairly sweet; bitterness is very mild.
Alcohol is low; body fairly light; carbonation average; finish is moderate length, sweet, bread and toffee.
Overall a fairly good beer; not my favorite style, but this is an excellent example of the Oktoberfest Marzen style.
