The Original Münchner Urtyp is another Münchner Original, a traditional tasty pleasure. A bit stronger and darker than the Original Münchner it has a convincingly noble malt aroma with a well-rounded bitter taste. In order to survive long transportation, it used to be brewed with a higher content of basic ingredients. Today this strong export beer is particularly popular at many of the public fairs from spring until autumn.

Bottle. Clear golden colour, average white head. Hoppy aroma, mild and malty, hoppy taste. Rather bitter finish of average duration. Not the best in the crop but well drinkable.

Cristobal37 (1290) - Budapest, HUNGARY - OCT 30, 2017
Pale pale yella. Aroma is soggy bread. Sweet malts, mild to no bitterness. Palate has more sweet graham cracker. An easy drinking beer, not bad, not exciting either.

UPDATED: OCT 30, 2017 0.5l bottle thanks to Cristobal37. Classic helles with notes of sweet bread, some grains, hay and only a tiny bit of floral hops. A good one. My 200th rating from Michael Jackson's 500 classic brews :-)

From old tasting notes. Deep gold color with a thick white head. Sweet malty nose. Dryish malt flavor upfront. Slight herbal bitter hop finish. Nothing special.

Zlotta (4151) - Hagen, GERMANY - MAY 29, 2017
0.5 l bottle from local ’trinkgut’ as ’Paulaner Münchner Urtyp’, best before March 2018. Clear, pale golden yellow with a medium large, dense, slowly diminishing, white head. Sweetish, slightly grassy-spicy aroma of grains, some straw and a touch of butter. Sweetish, slightly malty, a bit grassy-spicy taste of grains, straw and some butter, followed by a short, slightly bitter, moderately grassy-spicy and minimally metallic finish with unpleasant yeasty notes. Almost medium-bodied, quite smooth and moderately effervescent mouthfeel, lively carbonation. Drinkable, but tastes rather cheap, not very clean and quite a letdown to be honest, especially considering that this bottle is fairly fresh.

On tap, from the wood, Muenchner Stubn. Rich golden colour, white foam. Grainy, with ever so slight hints of fruit in the finish. Medium hop bitterness, bit spicy, short finish. Nothing special.
