The Paulaner Salvator with its strong, typically malty taste is the original Paulaner. The bottom-fermented Doppelbock-Bier unites the finest hops and dark barley malt. The Paulaner monks served Salvator as a replacement for food at Lent. Their most famous brewer was Brother Barnabas, who was the head of the Paulaner monastery brewery starting from 1773. Its original recipe is today almost the same as it was in Barnabas’ time. In order to protect the original recipe, Paulaner had the trade mark "Salvator" patented in 1896.

AndresTM (434) - Texas, USA - DEC 20, 2012
Aroma of grain, molasses, toffee, dried fruits, and soft European hops. Sweet taste of caramel malts, with a dry, concrete-like finish. Alcohol imperceptible, medium-to-light mouthfeel.

DonGregorio (612) - POLAND - JAN 15, 2018
Bottle. Clear dark amber beer with average off-white head. Aroma of toffee, caramel, bread, with notes of dried fruits, some dark fruits and nuts. Taste is medium sweet and light+ bitter, of caramel, bread, dark fruits, some raisins, toffee, nuts. Medium body and carbonation. Quite good.

Slight caramel sweetness, hints of raisin, pleasantly bitter aftertaste. Alcohol clearly comes through, as well as yeast. Smells fruity, quite nice. Appealing color, unstable head. All flavors perfectly balanced. Definitely too be repeated.

wombat23 (2132) - Texas, USA - DEC 30, 2017
Bottle pours amber-brown with a beige head. Dark fruits, malt, brown, sugar, raisins, hints of smoke, alcohol. I suspect fans of doppelbocks will like this one, but for me, it's too malty and sweet.

lidor1995 (153) - ISRAEL - DEC 28, 2017
UPDATED: DEC 28, 2017 From tap, half finger white head, slightly metalic aroma with notes of honey, sweet start and bready finish

BojanM (44) - Banja Luka, BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA - DEC 24, 2017
Tamna amber boja, vuče na smeđu. Zuta pjena srednje debljine, ne baš mnogo trajna. Arome karamela, kafe, čokolade, kvasca, kao i note alkohola i zemljane arome. Malo slabije karbonizacije, srednje gorčine, sa određenim ukusom i slatkog, izraženog u sasvim dovoljnoj mjeri. Tekstura je uljasta prema kremastoj.
