The Paulaner Salvator with its strong, typically malty taste is the original Paulaner. The bottom-fermented Doppelbock-Bier unites the finest hops and dark barley malt. The Paulaner monks served Salvator as a replacement for food at Lent. Their most famous brewer was Brother Barnabas, who was the head of the Paulaner monastery brewery starting from 1773. Its original recipe is today almost the same as it was in Barnabas’ time. In order to protect the original recipe, Paulaner had the trade mark "Salvator" patented in 1896.

On tap at Paulaner Brauhaus. I had this bottled a few weeks ago but was able to get it on tap in Germany --- totally different. This was very creamy and thick (for the style) and the sweetness of it lingered. Alcohol gave it a warmth but never made it too "hot." loved it.

A small bottle from Extrabrew beer shop in Phitsanulok, Thailand, consumed at the hotel. Aroma: oxtail soup and malt. Appearance: dark brandy, completely flat. Palate: medium-bodied, chewy, long and complex finish. Taste: well-balanced medium bitter and sweet. Biscuits and a hefty brandy-like kick at the finish. A superior beverage, finding this made my day!

Cerveza suave con un matiz tostado. Gustosa al paladar incluso a tragos largos. Para consumo diario.

Pours a clear copper brown fron the bottle with bubbly khaki head that leaves moderate lace. Aroma of sweet caramel and toasted malts, a back end of oxidation. Taste is malty, sweet, a bit of booze and smoke. Soft and sweet, tasty.

Fullpintofbeer (443) - Bristol, Somerset, ENGLAND - NOV 3, 2017
Bottle from Beer Emporium, Bristol. Tiny head, dark amber colour, clear. Aroma: roasted malts, roasted bread, bit of nuts. Lightly bitter, full body, long finish, soft carbonation. Very nice, smooth, well balanced.

pleispleis (173) - Maccagno, ITALY - NOV 3, 2017

Pours a reddish chestnut with a thick head that quickly dissipates, with no lacing. Aroma is faint bread with just a whiff of cinnamon. Taste is rich caramel with a very slight spice building. Aftertaste is sweetness with just a hint of booziness. Drinkable beer that is timeless.

WillemsUrenkel (2021) - Oldenburg, GERMANY - OCT 30, 2017
0,5 l bottle, BB 11/16. Okayyyyy ... Murky copper in the glass, an huge amount of sediments floating around. Mid sized pale beige head. Malty fruity smell. Taste is malty, little bit dry, berriefruity, mid alcoholic sharpness. Warming. Increasing alcoholic and bitterness to the end and in the aftertaste. Little bit like medicine. Good medicine.
