COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Paulaner Salvator with its strong, typically malty taste is the original Paulaner. The bottom-fermented Doppelbock-Bier unites the finest hops and dark barley malt. The Paulaner monks served Salvator as a replacement for food at Lent. Their most famous brewer was Brother Barnabas, who was the head of the Paulaner monastery brewery starting from 1773. Its original recipe is today almost the same as it was in Barnabas’ time. In order to protect the original recipe, Paulaner had the trade mark "Salvator" patented in 1896.

Bottle. Recommended by BevMo employee when I complained that they were out of Celebrator. Poured a dark ruby brown color, with a light white head that quickly left. Nose of malt, maybe lightly roasted. Tastes pretty good, lighter that I would like, with a medium body. Finishes well, but leaves me desiring more.

Une Allemande qui a défaut de manquer d’arôme et de caractčre se rattrape sur un corps léger et un ensemble trčs agréable en bouche

Bottle, 330 ml. Pours slightly hazy deep amber/orange with a thin sheen of off-white head. Small amount of visible carb, large bubbles, thick lacing. Big, rich, malty and sweet aroma with loads of molasses, caramel, wholemeal bread, slight honey, slight dark fruit, touch of cinnamon and ginger. Something of a meaty characteristic to it, like honey glazed ham. Taste is caramel and molasses again, some slightly burned, grainy malt, more fruit emerging towards the swift finish, which is moderately dry with lingering light bitterness and some sweet-ish wholemeal bread in the aftertaste. Moderately sweet, less rich and full than in the aroma and lacking in spice, but tasty still. Body is surprisingly light and texture is smooth, helped along by minimal carbonation; very easy drinking for a 7.9! Good stuff overall, exemplary doppel.

Sötét borostyán szín. Pörkölt, karamelles íz. Karakteres egy sör. Az alsóerjesztésűek egyik hercege.

Floral smells, sweet malt and caramel. Pours brown orange with a instantly dissipating thin head. Tastes of sweet dried fruit bread and a balanced undercurrent of alcohol. Low carbonation and dry mouthfeel. Creditable but not my favorite double bock.

Pours hazy reddish brown with creamy beige head. Rich aroma of sweet roasted malts, dried fruit. Taste is medium sweet, dark fruit, raisins, roasted malts. Nice texture, alcohol is well hidden. Good one, especially for winter season.

Piwo klarowne w kolorze pomaranczowo bursztynowym z piekna obfita drobnopecherzykowa piana. W aromacie miod, nuty ciemnego chleba i pumpernikiel. W smaku polslodkie z wysyceniem i goryczka na dosc niskim poziomie. Jest karmel, nuty ziolowe i bardzo slodowo. Piwo bardzo dobrze trafione jesli chodzi o styl.

Świetna, drobnopęcherzykowa i trwała piana. Cimnobrązowy, bursztynowy kolor. Piwo klarowne. Aromat kawowy, ciemnego pieczywa. Po jakimś czasie maślany. W smaku ciemne pieczywo i kawa. Dosyć nasycone. Na finiszu alkohol. Grzejący. Przyjemne zaskoczenie w konsystencji. Piwo wygląda na leków a jes gęstawe i treściwe. Zbawca!
