The Paulaner Salvator with its strong, typically malty taste is the original Paulaner. The bottom-fermented Doppelbock-Bier unites the finest hops and dark barley malt. The Paulaner monks served Salvator as a replacement for food at Lent. Their most famous brewer was Brother Barnabas, who was the head of the Paulaner monastery brewery starting from 1773. Its original recipe is today almost the same as it was in Barnabas’ time. In order to protect the original recipe, Paulaner had the trade mark "Salvator" patented in 1896.

Bottle. The pour was a medium copper brown with a yellowish-amber hue and a large (2-3 finger) cream colored frothy head that mostly diminished down to a very small amount of residue with a tiny collar, which produced some poor lacing. The aroma was of a light biscuit malt, and a sweet doughy yeast with notes of caramel, dark fruit (figs and plums), and was a bit nutty. Taste was sweet and very malty with a big note of caramel in the beginning and ended a tad bitter and mildly sweet with a strong note of dark fruit and a mild alcohol tinge. The flavor lasted an average time after the swallow with a nice sweet fruity taste left behind along with a nice mild alcohol warming sensation. Mouthfeel was a bit under medium in body and dry yet a tiny bit syrupy in texture with a moderate carbonation. Overall a very impressive beer with a really good blending of malts, fruit and sweetness which made this a wonderful tasting experience...

Dostupno bukvalno na svakom ćošku u BiH. Konzum u ponudi ima ovo odlično bok pivo. Nećete bolje potrošiti 2 KM. Aroma je odlčnog domaćeg pekmeza od šljiva. Znači, osmijeh na licu i nevjerica. Tačno - šljive. I sve ostalo je odlično. Staloženo. Nenapadno. Pravo uživanje. Tople preporuke!

Nawet nawet. Kolejny raz Paulaner mnie zaskakuje. Piwo mimo kilku braków jest wyjątkowo pijalne.

Bottle pour. Deep chestnut color with a handsome, thick off-white head. Nose has an engaging array of malty notes. Plenty of candied raisin and dark forest fruit. Toasted brown bread. Plum preserve. A touch nutty. Flavor is towards the sweeter end of the spectrum. A bit of woody heat on the finish cuts the sweetness. Nutty raisin bread. A bit of umami. Robust, full body. Strong carbonation keeps things from feeling to heavy. Overall, a really nice cold weather warmer. This has held up surprisingly well for a bottle that probably sat on the shelves for a while.

Bottle. Amber/orange. Big bavarian head. Aroma of dark berries, prunes and malts. Taste is honey, bready, malty and fruity. Bananas and caramell. Aftertaste is hoppy bitter and alcoholic, bordering on being too boozy. Carbonation is on point. It’s a sticky but süffig and warming winter delight.

Bottle. A- Candied fruits, raisins, malty, caramel, subtle peat. A- Copper color, clear liquid, beige head. A- Dried dark fruits, raisins, malty, caramel, bread, subtle alcohol. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, malty finish. O- For some reason I expected the color to be much darker. Not near as good as their hefeweizen nor as good as other doppelbocks I’ve had but drinkable for sure.

Bottle. A bold malty punch, light toasted, dried fruit, interesting base. Unfortunately, it is too overly boozy, with an astringent, alcoholic finish. Disappointing.
