3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Smells of lemon and hops, very nice, nothing frightening in the aroma. Has a very attractive cloudy yellow-beige with a good amount of head. Flavour is a decent balance of hops and wheat, and no nasty detergent flavours hanging around! Dry finish. A very good weiss.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On draught in a Berlin Beergarden. Clear golden colour with a large fluffy head that lasted really well. Sweet aftertaste. Very refreshing on a hot day when a full weissbier may be too heavy

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from Kardstadt in Dortmund, Germany. Pours "Kristallklar."...not really. More gold in color, almost honey with a hint of amber. Nose is sweet and honey, and somewhat trappist. Small white head, and no lacing. Taste is honey, burnt malts, some grain, and a slight bit of floral hops. A very small hint of wheat and a yeasty-afterbite. Palate is smooth, but rather thin in areas. Cloyingly sweet. maybe too sweet for me right now.

Bottle, 500ml. Pours a clear golden colour with a large, quick to disolve white head. Plenty of carbonation. Aroma is of wheat, banana and spices. Taste is pretty dry, with some light bitterness, but no other special flavours. Meh.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
500 ml bottle. 5.2%. From Lübeck, Germany.
Clear golden colour with small to average creamy white head.
Banana, wheat, yeast and caramel in aroma.
Some hops, banana, wheat and yeast in flavour. Thin.
I’ve never figured out what’s the purpose of Kristallweizen?
It’s like watered down version of real Weizen and doesn’t look so tempting.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle. The aroma is light malty, some bread and light sour. The head is large, white and creamy-foamy with a long duration. The body is lively and yellow. The taste is rather light, a little bit sour-bitter and light metallic in the finish. The body is light, lively and a little bit creamy with a lot of carbonation. A rather boring Weißbier.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Typical golden colour with white head that disappears quickly. Aroma comes from yeast. Taste is from yeast, some flavor of banana candy. Experienced a slightly taste of metallic (umami). Texture is light, thin with good carb and a quick finish. Ok beer.

2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Serving date: 2009-01-30. Served in Paulaner weizen glass. 500 ml bottle.
Pours a clear pale straw-like color with golden nuances. A rather aggressive pour creates a very big and rocky initial head that settles just a little too soon, but leaves a nice uneven coat of foam that sticks around towards the end. Small lacings.
Malted wheat and the accompanying aroma of white bread, banana, faint notes of cloves and yeast in the nose.
A distinct taste of bananas, orange peel and even some sweet clementines. Some metallic flavor. More malted wheat and bread. The yeast, faint already in the smell, is even more moderate in the taste. The finish doesn’t have much to offer - its semi-dry with a slight bitterness and fades away too quickly.
The lingering foam and strong carbonation provides a creaminess to the light body.
This is a decent beer, highly drinkable and quite refreshing, but it’s not very interesting. It’s just too polished - it’s a bit unidimensional, and the flavors lack depth and are presented in a too orderly fashion. For someone who thinks a hefeweizen is too powerful, this one might be recommended though, since it’s basically a "hefe light".
