Bottle from Systembolaget. 25 SEK. Blind tested yesterday evening at the yearly Winter/Christmas seasonal brew testing. Not really a seasonal brew...

Semi-hazy amber pour with a tan head. Notes of caramel, dried fruit, yeast, plums, bananas, butterscotch. Medium body, soft to medium carbonation, sweet-ish finish. One of the better belgian strong ales that you can find in supermarkets.

Bottle from Merchants. Drank this while carving pumpkins, because it's decorative gourd season, mother fucker. Aroma is caramel, booze, toffee, butterscotch, booze, some fruit, good. Appearance is reddish brown, light tan head, somewhat hazy. Taste is toffee, caramel, butterscotch, yeast, dry, wood, booze, banana, not shabby. Mouthfeel is medium body, light to medium carbonation, spritzy, dry boozy caramel wood aftertaste. Overall, it ain't bad.

Do like the complex arrangement of different flavors, malt, hoppy bitternotes, some fruit, all well-balanced into a great composition. Among my favorites!

Fles gedeeld bij de Horror Zone, geprobeerd met Roelzie1986, Bart en Perijn. Het is een haast amberkleurig bier met veel lichtbruin schuim. Het heeft een zachte caramelsmaak.

Bottle. BB Oct 2018; Drank Sept 2017 - Clear orange with reddish tinge. Good creamy off-white head. Malty; sweet malts, toffee. Fruity; orange citrus, plums. Mildly spicy. Yeasty. Lightly hoppy. Sweet malty citrus fruity spicy throughout. Quite dry. Nice balance. So drinkable. Very decent. (2017-09)

UPDATED: SEP 24, 2017 Une de mes bières préférées. Elle a du corps, du caractère, un bel équilibre. Le verre est lui aussi très original et adapté au breuvage.

Pours a clear brown with a small white head and thick lacing. Aroma is woody malts, dark caramel, citrus, with coriander, clove and ripe banana from that Belgian yeast. Taste is pretty sweet with some bitterness at the end with a long, slightly soapy finish and good body. Nice example of a strong malty Belgian beer, even if I prefer some of its peers.

God og lækker beligsk strong ale, Dejlig fyldig øl, med tilpas sødme og bitterhed.
