COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle & keg: Filtered
Ingredients: Barley malts, mineral water, wheat, hops and white candy sugar.
Created in the 1980s, and named after an 18th century brewer and innkeeper, Pauwel Kwak, who apparantly developed a shorter version of the traditional English long stirrup glass (which developed into the yard of ale), for coachmen to use.
Kwak is served with respect for tradition in its own Kwak glass. Recognisable, special and just as idiosyncratic as the taste of the beer itself.

A complex beer , with a nice smouth bitterness in the end. What a great beer. Can’t say anything negative about it. Aroma was malty sweet and a touch of caramel. Flavor also had the same as the nose but a little sweeter, grassy, and yeasty.

ZBF2008: From tap. Pours clear and golden light brown with a lacing off-white head. Light spiced and caramel malty aroma. Flavour is dry caramel, light spiced. Ends with much of same, lingering malty and yeasty flavour. Nice.

UPDATED: DEC 21, 2005 An amber beer with a great head. The aroma is sweet with notes of caramel and yeast as well as nuts. The flavor is sweet with notes of wood, nuts, fruits, and plums, leading to a sweet smooth caramel end.

Bottle @ De Met, Halle. Pours a slightly hazy amber color with a longlasting off-white head. Has a sweetish fruity malty spicy aroma some hints of dark fruit. Sweetish fruity and malty spicy flavor. Has a sweetish malty finish.

Warning! Early amateur rating! A ridiculously overpriced bottle in Lowlander, Aldgate. Dark beer. Good carbonation. Sweet malts and some of that Belgian tang. Nice.

An ounce of appearance is worth a pound of performance. The glass is everything, the beer itself is an average tasting amber ale with a medium body. Just be careful as you get to the half way point.

[Bottled at East End Brewery, Quarry Bay, Hong Kong] Amber colour, firm creamy head. Toffee is obvious up front. Caranel and almond dominates this fairly soft malt driven beer. It has solid body, a light yeast character and lightly grassy finish. It’s not very complex, but really pleasant.
