a heartwarming belgian ale, rather light body, not over the top sweetness, pretty brown hue with the right head

Light aroma but acidic (not in a bad way). Pours a nice golden brown. Light malty fig and yeast flavor that leaves the pallet coated. I’m a Belgian fan and this fits right in.

Aroma: Yeast, red fruit Appearance: Red, amber, white head, fine lace and foam, clear Taste: Red fruit, bit of cheese, very smooth finish

HopRedHead (397) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - AUG 1, 2013
Bottle from Delirium Cafe in Brussels. Served in the proper extravagant glassware so it scores an extra point for appearance. Smells like grassy hops, caramel and doughy malts. Taste is smooth, nice light grassy hop flavours with a bready malt backbone that isn't overpowering. Year flavours gave it a nice sweetness that was fairly balanced. Light bitterness on the way down with a touch of booze. Solid Belgian drop.

beerdad (397) - Kansas, USA - APR 29, 2010
bottled. pours murky amber with a medium off white head. aromas of grape, orange, dough and raisin. Alcohol dominates the palate. Flavors are of malt. it is surprisingly bitter with lower sweetness than i expected. It lingers on the palate with the astringent effects of alcohol. Ive had much better belgian ales.

Blake (396) - Orange, California, USA - APR 7, 2010
Pours a hazy amber with lots of white head. Very frothy and carbonated. Aroma of alcohol and spices. Flavor of alcohol, yeast, and caramel. Finishes dry and bitter. Alcohol aroma and flavors just too strong for a Belgian Strong. Not hidden within the beer well at all.

JEK69 (396) - FRANCE - APR 20, 2012
I drunk it on the Rhone bank, in a classic Belgian glass, not in the famous swan neck’s shaped glass sorry. It pours brown clear with a medium foam head. Sweet toffee flavors dominate that malty profile. Some esters, a light bitterness, nothing exciting but nothing wrong.

terefere (396) - Durham, USA - NOV 9, 2013
Bottle 33cl, ABV 8.4%. Red/brown color, fizzy head quickly diminishing, clear & sparkling. Aroma of malt, caramel, cereal, alcohol, hint of citrus. Sweet&Bitter with an astringent/alcoholic finish, some alcohol in the taste. I remember it being better than this.

Batavi (395) - Waalwijk, NETHERLANDS - MAR 1, 2015
UPDATED: MAR 2, 2015 33 cl.

330ml [email protected] Santo Brevitore with Camilla&Kirsti. Pours a bronze coloured body with big head and fair lacing. Honey, bread, caramel and some reisin. Mirrored also in taste, but also some pepper and honey. The girls tried it and was excited! Alcohol well hidden. 16.05.13
