UPDATED: SEP 7, 2017 Tap @ Het Elfde Gebod, Amsterdam. Eerste indruk als je zou zeggen dat het een dubbel was zou het ook geloven. Mooie amber kleurige beetje troebel biertje. Ruikt fruitig o.a. banaan.

750->tulip: Pours a large, creamy, off-wihte head that provides spare lacing, has a hazy body that is made lightly cloudy by particles and has a honey clover and raisin bit to it. The beer itself is reddish brown in color. The duration of the flavor is average, it is moderately sweet, not very acidic or bitter and lasts about average on the palate after consumption. The texture is oily, the carbonation is soft, and the finish is astringent. I used to be crazy about all the Belgian beers when I first ’met’ them, but I’ve since come off of that honeymoon and am a bit more critical nowadays. Not a bad beer, but too sweet and heavy for my taste on an average day. It does, however, get a good bit better and ’candier’ the warmer it is; I’d serve warmer than the average beer.

Aroma is pungent caramel. Pours with little head. A very nice taste, well-balanced, excellent beer.

Thick creamy head, very nice bronze reddish color. Intense carb. Smells wine, fruit (slightly rotten) and burberry. Lots of candy in the taste. Aftertaste has alcohol and sour finish which slightly spoils the impression.

bouteille 33 cl - couleur ambrée, mousse abondante, odeur persistante de caramel, goût omniprésent de caramel, noisette, finale longue sur l’alcool

Pours a murky reddish brown; lots of yeast floaties in there. Little head, some lace. Aroma is yeasty and bread-like directly after pour, then very sweet, vinous, and fruity. Great malty flavor and some sort of weird twang also, with fruits. It has some sort of "kick" to it, but I don’t taste alcohol. A nice hop flavor too. To me, it feels oily and thin in the mouth.

Scent of chocolate, sugary malt. In the flavours are some salt and savoury elements. A slight bitterness near the end. Not my absolute favourite.

On tap at Belga Sörfesztivál, Budapest. Clear, amber and light brown color with creamy, medium, off-white head. Very complex aroma. First honey and alcohol appears, later comes the flavour of the caramel malt. An interesting fuity, banana flavour also appears. It’s rich, alcoholly and strong. Medium sweet taste balanced with some bitterness. Full body, silky carbonation, creamy texture. Sweet, grainy, toffee finish. Delicious, strong, alcoholly beer. It’s not an every-day beer, it’s for celebration...

33 cl in bottiglia, trovata in supermercato. Ambrata davvero buona. Scende che è un piacere.

33cl bottle - poured dark brown/copper with a caramel head. Lots of fruit, yeast and spicing in the aroma. Caramel, brown sugar, bread, loads of sweet malt. Flavour is similarly yeasty with the same dominate notes of dark fruit and spice and malt. Light alcohol in the middle toward finish, but in no way overbearing. Warming. This beer is very prevalent around Brussels.
