Had some at the Great American Beer Festival. Very rich Belgian ale. Pours a red-amber with a thick white head. Nose of sweet fruits and mild malts. Taste is sweet with strong caramel character. Body is full and the alcohol is warming. Solid.

Orange - light amber color. Very nice aroma: hops and oranges. Malty, with a light sourness and tartness; fruity as well. Correct final. Quite original.

Bottle at t’Brugs Beertje, Brugge - 01/12/12. Mid chestnut brown with a good off white head. Nose carries Belgian yeast esters, light hops, malts. Taste follows, a little brown sugar, sweet caramel, malt. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, smooth on the palate, bitter sweet finish. Ok stuff, fairly basic beer but looks and feels good. Tthe first time I’ve drunk this since one of my first Belgian visits circa ’01/02. Novelty glass tastic !

UPDATED: AUG 14, 2006 Bottle . Dark orange thin white lasting head. Caramel and orange peel run through this beer. Lovely caramel with citrus/orange nose. Caramel in mouth with orange peel/hop dry finish. Good balance, nice beer with toffee but not over the top with the candy sugar. On draught at The Rake. Bit sickly with strong malt. But drinkable and odd seeing it on draught 3.5/5
