Head: light beige, medium, frothy to creamy, poor to avg. retention. Colour: amber-brown, clear if poured carefully, hazy otherwise. Aroma: some floral hops upfront, but disappear in a moment; strong caramel, dried fruit, roasty, bit of alcohol. Taste: caramel, roasted, spicy, slightly bitter. Quite in the mainstream of belgian strong dark ales.

The poet William Cowper fancies that mankind is inclined to indulge itself in novelty. If you needed further proof of that, well here it is. The glassware has a rounded bottom and will not stand alone, hence the stand; but more importantly will the beer stand alone? The bottle opener brought a pfft and the aromatic vapours of sweet dough are sharply released and you begin the experience. The hissing red brown liquid roles down the oddly shaped vessel into the globular base and quickly up the narrow neck gaining a foamy three finger off white head that lingered a short while. In the meantime you focus, give the glass a twirl and then drawing it nearer you watch the bustling bubbles buoyantly make their way releasing the bread, caramel and yes the hint of spicy dark fruits. Eagerly you take just a sip of the mellifluous fluid but don't be fooled by its sweet appeal, the 8.4 ABV won't be held responsible for your actions. The malty character of caramel combined with warmth of the alcohol are like being wrapped in a woolly tartan blanket so soothing and comforting. Relishing your relaxed repose a lightly balancing bitterness glides in to freshen the mouth ready for another mouthful of the Amrita. This is one for the fireside on a cold evening and novelty glass or no it certainly stands alone as a beer.

Ładny, głęboki, rubinowo-brązowawy kolor. W zapachu głwnie karmel, trochę belgijskich, przyprawowych nut. W smaku powtrka.

Amber colour. Bitter banana. Spicy notes. Some coriander. Bread. Some cream. Glass is iconic.

Amber color with some sediment. Big , off-white head . Aroma of malt , honey , dry fruits and yeasts. Rather sweet taste. Light bitterness at the end. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Piwo ciemno bursztynowe, nieprzejrzyste, świetna piana, zdobi szkło. Aromat - suszone owoce, sporo słodu, średnio intensywny. Smak - bardzo słodowy, dość słodki, trochę szczypiący od karmelu i alkoholu, intensywnie drożdżowy, słodycz fajnie zrwnoważona alkoholem. Wysycenie spore. Posmak długi, wytrawny raczej , lekko grzeje w przełyk. Bardzo dobre belgijskie piwo.

Poured into a Kwak Glass. Aromas of spice and dough and a slight fruity smell. Brown colour with big dense head. Taste sweet and malty and very drinkable. Excellent.

Pours deep golden. From a mystery case from beer hawk. Good head with long legs. Sweet bubble gum flavour with a hint from hops. Nice for a change and ok for me in small measures. Alcohol to sweetness is well balanced. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: FEB 15, 2017 Gran cerveza. Aroma intenso, agradable y afrutado.
