Very nice beer, was served in a pub in a Kwak glass (which looks like something from a lab)

Quite honestly; a perfected balance of malt and sweetness. Strong ABV, married to a full-bodied mouthfeel with a brief flavour...but lingering bitterness. So many English ales are mostly "generic malt" married to less than 10% specialist malts, which result in a very bland and forgettable experience. This Belgian masterpiece has the best with none of the worst! The fact that this recipe has been unaltered since 1791 (apparently! ;) says all you need to know. Beer aficionados: I urge you...if you have not already sought this variety out, then do so with urgency...I implore thee! AntonyWilson (397) - Johannesburg, SOUTH AFRICA - AUG 16, 2017
330ml Bottle: Pours a clear amber with off-white head that does not retain well. Aroma of raisins, stone fruit, molasses and even a slight alcohol sting. Caramel flavours mixed with dark fruits and some slight bubblegum notes as well. A definitive alcohol warmth in the mouth. Full bodied, low carbonation, with low bitterness. Overall this beer is fantastic, i love the complexity of the flavours and aromas. A defintive must if you enjoy the style. rumore (590) - Rimini, ITALY - AUG 15, 2017
From the tap at FOB, Rimini, Italy. Pours a brilliant reddish amber with medium grained white foam, persistent. Aroma is caramel, toffee candy, malty. Body is rather dense, with an alcoholic feeling filling the mouth. Taste is definitely sweet, balanced by some bitterness that is especially evident in the finish. I’d say the excessive alcoholic feeling is the part that is a little detrimental to this beer. geolgau (303) - Cluj-Napoca, ROMANIA - AUG 12, 2017
Aroma is rich on malts, with some caramel, dark fruit jam, and some nice fruity hops. Taste is nice, not too sweet. Malty and lightly spiced, there’s a touch of alcohol, jam, and nuts. Not very complex, but ok.

Pours a hazy, amber with average carbonation. Aroma is rich, alcoholic, fruity, caramel and some banana. Taste follows the nose - rich, fruity, sweet, strong alcoholic. Sweet but not cloying, hops provide just the right amount of balance to make this a very drinkable beer. Medium bodied. Sweet finish. Great beer. blackbock (134) - Shoalhaven NSW, AUSTRALIA - AUG 10, 2017
(Bottle) Gorgeous sweet caramel and plum aroma. Poured a light brown/amber with some haze. Sweet but not cloying, bitterness is present but only sufficient to balance sweetness. Fine beadng head, not particularly persistent. Surprisingly easy to drink for such a sweet and strong ale. Mouthfeel is just right, leaves a slight tongue-coating bitterness and evaporating alcohol coolness. Actually a good Belgian, if slightly bland.

Øl serveret i et fantastisk glas (reagensglas look a like).

Silnější říz a sladké aroma.
