UPDATED: APR 30, 2007 Bottled. Caramel and herbal aroma. Amber color, irregular off-white head, few lace. Sweet, caramel, herbal, light bready, medium body, alcoholic. Start plain and too sweet but futher on it gets more interesting.

Floral ether of heady type mead like and grape hyacinth. Serve warmish, 8C+ for full effect. Cloying sweetness of treacle and sherry. Initially disappointed (too cold) but will try again.

Fruity, spicy nose, maybe bananas or pineapple, with not a whole lot of head in the glass (yes THE glass). It tastes typical to me, along the lines of some of Unibroues brews, which I like very much. This was a bit sweeter than some, and it did warm going down due to the 8 percent ABV. It became much more flavorful as it warmed. I didnt like it cold, straight from the fridge. Its a little thick and syrupy for me, but overall a nice Belgian. I will try it again.

Yeast and citrus aroma, deep amber, medium vanilla head. Apple/pear, malt flavours some raisins too. Full bodied, dry finish, very nice tongue tingle. Quite good!

Kwak has a beautiful amber color and a strong malted taste. I enjoyed this beer that I find similar to a barley wine. Unfortunately I did not have the traditional Kwak stirrup cup drinking glass.

Fair amount of chill haze, brown colouration, nice head. Aroma is fruity, Apricot, banana, spicy yeastyness, vinegar, caramel, bready yeast, butter. Rich fruity flavour, banana, very spicy, peppery alcohol, lightly oily texture, anise and buttery.

Aroma is belgian yeast, spices. Pours a dark copper, nice head and lacing. Fruity, slight caramel, alcohol finish with some hops. Fairly dry. Par for the course Belgian.

Tap. Pours a nice amber with ecru head. A little more mild than other belgians. Doesnt seem to be quite as complex as other belgians, but still good. There was a distinct musty sweetness that the Kwak had. Overall, I have to try some more to get really used to the style.

Amber body with a foamy off white head that left minimal lacing. Bready aroma with fruits(bananas) carmel, yeast and rasins too. Bready yeast flavors with bananas and some sweet malts as well. A bit tingly int the mouth with a smooth feel.
