Poured from 330ml bottle into glass goblet. Beautiful clear golden-brown colour, medium off-white head that reduced very quickly. Big aroma of sugary toffee and burnt malt, some coffee and spice. Flavour is complex but dominated by caramel toffee with dark chocolate, coffee and marshmellow. Full body with medium carbonation, a little thick but the alcohol is very well hidden making this beer very drinkable. Kwak was a beer that introduced me to real flavour and complexity in beer, it doesnt hold up as a full on favourite beer for me these days, but is still quality stuff that shows a well made big beer.

Aroma and taste of malt, brown sugar, caramel, spice and a hint of alcohol. Not bad, but there are plenty of better Belgian strong ales out there.

A great specimen of strong Belgian Ale. Herbal, bitter but still drinkable - a nice beer for meat or alone to celebrate.

Really decent, classic Belgian beer. Full body, esters, medium carbonation, semi-sweet malts. Nice.

Tried many times, both tapped and bottled. Last time probably from tap at Bar Castei, Montecchio Maggiore (VI), Italy in his particular glass. Colour is amber, with a great foamy creamy head. Aroma is toffee, dark ripen fruit, malt, spices. Taste is toffee, caramel, malt, dark fruit and alcohol. Finish is long and malty.

Bottle as gift. Pours clear copper brown sheen a with foamy toffee-beige head. Aromas big with sweet candy floss then a bit of oak cask. Taste brings through the smooth toffee apple with a mild brandy warmth. Soft but light body with a tight moderate sparkle. This is one of the best looking beers Ive seen and it tastes damn good too.
