3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Poured from 330ml bottle into glass goblet. Beautiful clear golden-brown colour, medium off-white head that reduced very quickly. Big aroma of sugary toffee and burnt malt, some coffee and spice. Flavour is complex but dominated by caramel toffee with dark chocolate, coffee and marshmellow. Full body with medium carbonation, a little thick but the alcohol is very well hidden making this beer very drinkable. Kwak was a beer that introduced me to real flavour and complexity in beer, it doesn’t hold up as a full on favourite beer for me these days, but is still quality stuff that shows a well made big beer.
Fruity with hints of caramel. Slightly disappointed compared to other Belgian beers at the table, for me. Others raved. That Belgian twang on the tongue wasn’t there. Looked great in its tall glass with the wooden handle. Beautiful color. Beamer (61) - - JUL 14, 2017
Mooi amber kleurig moutig biertje, zeker niet bitter, grappig glas wordt het in geserveerd. Weer een favoriet erbij.

Bottle from la superettte à biéres. You can find it everywhere, it’s cheap, but what a beer!! I love it, it’s probably my favourite amber ale! tlyx (101) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - JUL 12, 2017
Fin kopparfärg. Maltig och fyllig, lagom sötma. Karamell och ton av anis och brödkryddor. Lätt beska. Behaglig dryck.

Botella 33cl en The Celt (Carcassonne) Aroma maltoso, sabor suave, se nota un toque dulce.

Amber in colour with a yeasty, nutty, molasses taste. Aroma is super light. Could stand to have a touch thicker bod, but nevertheless it’s very easy drinking. wlf (587) - DENMARK - JUN 30, 2017

Tumbler glass at a restaurant in Copenhagen
Colour is dark red like copper. Has a pleasant scent. Taste caramel, delicate, just enough sweet. ZuidDrenthe (12) - Hoogeveen, NETHERLANDS - JUN 8, 2017
Nice bronze color. Carbonation is lively. Taste is very herby and spicy, with a clear tone of alcohol and dried fruits. Leaves a warm feeling after a sip. Aroma is butterscotch and herbs. Texture is oily.
Overall; really ok Belgian ale.
