biir (1397) - Berlin, - FEB 6, 2017
At Wurst & Bier - Dark golden color, white head. Quite sweet Helles with a decent smoky note. Seems a bit unbalanced. Okay.

1,000 ml bottle. BB 12/11. Thanks to Timo A!
Slightly cloudy deep golden color with a small off-white head. Strong grainy malty aroma with some sweetness and mild hops in the aroma. The flavor is grassy hops, moderate bitterness, dry grainy malt and some smoky notes. Tasty. Balanced.

Foerdifuxx (377) - Franconia, GERMANY - SEP 8, 2015
UPDATED: NOV 11, 2015 When poured into the glas it produces a large, creme coloured, medium lasting, rocky head. The clear, hazelnut coloured beer offers aromas of caramel, grassy and floral hops, cake, light smoke, toffee, dark chocolate and basement aromas. Sweet malty in the beginning with lots of caramel, roasted bread and a hint of smoke, then more hoppy with a, by roast malt dominated, bitter-sweet finish. Some black pepper in the aftertaste. Creamy texture, lively carbonation, medium body. Simple and harmonic.

olsvammel (7241) - Örebro, SWEDEN - JUL 29, 2015
Bottle at Weinstubbe Pizzini in Bamberg. Bready and malty smell. Similar taste, but also fruity and a light metallic touch.

Miksu (5053) - Jyväskylä, FINLAND - JAN 15, 2015
1 l bottle, thanks Timo A! Amber color. Sourish and smoky aroma. Smoky and peaty taste with toasted bread. Weird unpleansant countryside aroma and taste.

2.2
TAR (2775) - Blue Ridge Mountains, North Carolina, USA - NOV 14, 2014
5 L bottle consumed in Bamberg on Aug. 2014: Coppery gold. Creamy fringe of head. Quiet but defective nose of burnt popcorn, soggy breadcrust, unspent grains, and wet paper. Hint of licorice. Flimsy mouthfeel. Prevalent leafy hop flavors immediately render the body thin as they collide with severely husky malt and burnt popcorn. Flabby and lifeless breadcrust flavors possess scant definition or texture, and consequently the unyielding sugars continue to mar things. Very mild note of Spalt wavers in and out of the unclean body. Woeful malt extraction remains evident in the cole-like finish, which is comprised of brown sugar and a soured fruitiness. A very generic and flawed product from a second-rate brewery.

Koelschtrinker (20584) - Köln (Cologne), GERMANY - SEP 5, 2014
Trocken malziger Antrunk, etwas getreidig, dezente Rauchnoten. Trocken bleibend, wenig würzig, hintergründig bitter. Reißt mich nicht vom Hocker. 10/7/7/7/9/7

3fourths (9349) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - AUG 7, 2014
UPDATED: AUG 8, 2014 1L bottle. Hazed brown body with a small off-white head. Raw wort and cara red malt aroma, grainy in the way of dry pet food mix. Yeast is a tad lactic / yogurt-like. Watery sweet wort mouth presence, low bitterness, no acidity, the body completely falls apart. Amateur-level beer. The brewer should be ashamed to demain such a cost (6+ euro) for terrible beer.

Moravius (1318) - Berlin, GERMANY - AUG 5, 2014

brugmanneke (283) - GERMANY - JUN 15, 2014
(1 l bottle) Amber-colored hazy beer with a stable, creamy-looking white head. Quite appealing. Aroma is much more interesting than what I had a expected from a standard-range Vollbier. First sip is crisp and spicy, then there’s malty caramel and hay, and then a moderate smokiness and wood aroma kick in. Taste is luckily only lightly sweet, with quite some lingering bitterness following. Palate is pleasing, too. Medium body and fine carbonation, leading to a smooth mouthfeel. I’m really enjoying this beer right now. Very balanced. Feels like concentrated Franconia!
