for a low priced beer this one is actually very good, clean crisp taste with no afterbite. nice summertime beer

No aroma, no flavour, not even off flavours. All around plain and boring. President's choice can.

BeerAndPonies (171) - Medicine Hat, Alberta, CANADA - MAY 22, 2016
355 ml can from Real Canadian Liquorstore’s seconds bin, served in a Molson Light pilsner flute. Pours a very light golden straw color with faint carbonation and a pearly, soapy head that leaves no lace. Nose has wet grains, vegetal, green apple, and musty, earthy hops; flavor holds the same, but restrained, with a speck of pepper on the tongue-tip. Thin, and the flavor lingers briefly. Simply not a good pilsner, although it can be choked down.

Strangebrewer (1308) - Chatham, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 19, 2015
bottle. Poured clear yellow with a thin lasting white head. Aroma is bland and hay-ish. Light body, highly carbonated, crisp finish. Pretty generic, I don’t really detect a pilsner style here, more like a lager. Flavour of corn grain with light bready malt, some grassy hop notes. But horrible.

3.2
Papillon (400) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 22, 2014
355 mL Can. Straw-gold body with a 1-finger frothy head that wants to cling all over the sides of the glass, leaving lots of blotchy lace. Phenolic aroma that reminds me of Band-Aids; a smell like cookies does come through with hints of candy-sweet and cardboard -like a Crispy Crunch chocolate bar wrapping after you take the chocolate bar out, and there is an innuendo of vanilla. Strange but interesting. The flavor is a pleasant surprise with light sweet malts dominating at first, then the not-too-imposing hops balance it out and make the aftertaste, then followed by a smooth light cream cheese finish. Remarkably smooth in the mouth. This is my new first choice "budget" beer when I need reasonably good beer but can’t afford the high-end craft beers.

2.2
Spab (3844) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 11, 2013
341 ml clear bottle from the Beer Store. Pours a clear golden colour with smallish white head. Aroma is pretty bland with light grassiness and hints of sweetness. Flavour is a little more assertive although still on the mellow side with sweet grains and light grassy bitterness. Body on the light side. Not terrible but pretty mediocre.

355mL Can 5%. What more can I say about mass produced pale lagers? Cold and drinkable on a summer day, but nothing to write home about. Pale yellow colour, with a weak, white foam. Blindfolded, it would be difficult to distinguish from Molson Canadian. Plain, boring, Canadian beer. Good price though.

reebtogi (6267) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - MAR 7, 2012
355ml can pours a pale straw color with a 2 finger white head that disappears almost immediately leaving no lace. Aroma is light grains and faint hops. Taste is light malt sweetness and an undesirable lingering hop bitterness. Nothing good about this one and definitely not recommended.

1.5
Metalchopz (3384) - Cantley, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 14, 2011
Originally rated March 2006. Pours a golden colour with lots of carbonation. Head is big and foamy, with medium retention and decent lace. The nose is of sweet malt and alcohol. Watery mouthfeel. The taste is light, with notes of corn in the aftertaste. No pilsener here.

1.5
Powertrip (1000) - Calgary, Alberta, CANADA - AUG 14, 2010
Colour: Thin white-yellow with a green hue. Nose: Yeasty with some butter. Taste: Small hop presence, over-carbonated, late stale bread takes complete control. Horrible.

***review from Aug 12, 2007***

My God what a waste of time. I feel sorry for the janitor that brews this crap - there is no way that guy has a happy life. Aroma is zilch, well, maybe a slight sweetness - it isn’t skunky so I guess that is something..... Taste is pretty bland when cold - corn, sweet, possibly slight hop. Mouthfeel is ok I guess, but the lingering taste is hard to handle. This shit has so little flavour that it is impossible to tell if it would even qualify as a Pilsener. Don’t waste the pennies that you find in the parking lot. Save those for getting MoJo’s at your local convinience store.....do they even sell those things anymore? God dammit...I’m so old.
