This is Joe’s multinational take on a classic IPA. IPA’s are known for their intense hop bitterness, flavor and aromas. First, Joe used American and English malt, then American and English hops are added during the mash, first wort, boil, and finally it is dry hopped for aroma. Belgium gets involved with the yeast and a special candy sugar finish for smoothness and flavor.

poured from a bottle. Amber straw color with medium white pillowy head that laces nicely. bread and hay flavors in the malt. Aroma is earthy and pine with some hints of citrus. fruitiness in the aroma and flavor throughout the beer. medium dryness on the finish.

Rusty color pour. Get a lot of belgian yeast on the nose, some citrus. Bitterness of the beer sits on your tongue for a long time after swallowing, but its more finessed than Stones Cali belgie. Not bad ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle from Happy’s, Cedar Falls, June 2014. Orange pour with a small khaki head, June 2014. Mildly hoppy aroma, citrus, doughy malts, biscuity, a bit of fruitiness, orange and grapefruit. Okay flavor, a bit sweet, sugar, orange, biscuity, doughy malts, lemon peel. Not bad.

Bottle. A- Light, subtle citrus, slight candy, slightly hoppy, grassy, wheat. A- Orange color, slightly hazy liquid, minimal off white head. T- Bitter, wheat, spices, grassy. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, bitter finish. O- I was hoping for a great beer with all the comments of a Belgian White as that is my favorite style. This didn’t quite do it for me. It was like a subtle bad Belgian white mixed with a mediocre IPA. Didn’t seem very balanced and just lacked so much.

Disappointing IPA. This one had some weird spice flavors (almost like a witbier at times) and a lot of grassiness, but not true to the IPA style at all.

Fantastic floral & hop aroma w/ a decent rustic pour w/ a big foamy head. The taste is a little thin & uneventful. Not a dry hopped beer which makes it go down easy but lacks flavor to really make this stand out. Not bad overall!

Red stripe looking bottle, sort of a Belgian wit inspired IPA. Not sure if I’m supposed to be getting those flavors. Meh

The Belgian yeast really makes this IPA smooth and very drinkable. The Blond Fatale and No Coast IPA are good choices from Peace Tree.

Pours a nice amber color with white head. Pine, citrus, and some malt on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes clean.

Nice IPA made with Belgian yeast. Always one of my favorites from Iowa. Hop Sutra also good from same brewery.
