Bomber poured a clear reddish amber with a small lasting amber head. Aromas of rye whiskey, caramel, oak and fruitiness. Palate was light bodied and smooth. Flavors of rye whiskey, oak, caramel and light fruitiness with a smooth lingering rye whiskey finish. ibrubeer (412) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - MAY 16, 2016
Draft @ Leadbelly’s LNK. Nice oaky aroma. Color is dark amber with a red tint, clear with a white head that didn’t last. Taste is pretty boozy, a nice Templeton flavor. Full bodied with a pretty big carbonation bite. Overall, a very tasty barrel aged red ale. DandyWolfFloyd (1212) - Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 19, 2016
Aroma - oak, malted barley, Jameson whiskey, and spice.
Appearance - the body is a cloudy rust. The head about 3/4" of a beige head, and settles into a foam quickly.
Taste - has a caramel malt, some nut, Jameson whiskey oak staves, malted barley. This really takes on the perfect mix of a red ale and Jameson - quite amazing.
Palate - medium to full body, the texture is creamy, the carbonation average, the finish is boozy, woody, and malty. koleminer20 (3978) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - OCT 29, 2015
22 oz bottle shared by me with Gus and ebone1988. The pour is a beautiful dark ambery red color with a thin white collar and some decent lace. The aroma is really good. There is a lot of malts and a strong rye presence. It's good. Light spice and a decent vanilla happening. The flavor is a little more booze related. It's malty and light with a good malt profile and a nice rye spice. There is a light vanilla and a nice oak presence. The mouth feel is light and well carbonated with a lingeringly smooth malty vanilla finish. It's a legit amber

Poured from bomber into snifter. They say this was aged for a year in templeton barrels but it sure doesn't taste like it. The bourbon doesn't come through strong enough or with any consistency. It just seems to be sort of randomly layered onto the base beer, which is also disappointingly bland. I don't know what's supposed to be going on here flavor wise. It's boring, uneven, and muddled. Not well done. SrSilliGose (3332) - pouring bus, New Brunswick, CANADA - DEC 16, 2014

Bottle @ the rake dungeon, big thanks to pepsiedcan and the state of Iowa for the cred boost. Pours a touch hazy, ruby red/orange appearance with a thin light brown head. Heavy whiskey and booze in the nose. Lots of grainy wood, tannins, vanilla, and oak to go along with some caramel and grassy hops. A little twangy. Pretty high booze. The flavor is also pretty overwhelmed by the barrel character. Lots of vanilla and oak. Kind of thin. Moderately high sweetness and moderate bitterness. Warm finish. Ehhh. Bottle from MGM in Burnsville. Orange amber pour. Really nice aroma of whiskey and wood. Smooth woody taste. Awesome at $3.99 / bomber! beersighted (135) - - JUN 11, 2014
This is a sweet, red ale aged in Templeton Rye barrels. My aversion to red ales is obliterated when the nasty nickel flavors are masked by rye whiskey.
