12 oz bottle serving: Pours a deep black with a foamy brown head. Light shows through the dark brew and plenty of carbonation is visible. Smells of pine hops and maybe some cascade hops as well with roasted malt. Tastes of hops and descent carbonation, hops are strong at first but subside to just make a very drinkable black IPA. It is 8.2% abv and the hops and roasted malt balance it out. Finishes with the bitter, roasted malt taste and leaves some carbonation on the tongue. Bottle. Very dark with foamy mocha head and decent lacing. Medicinal aroma plus butter plus sweet. Tastes lightly roasty plus a very clean dry bitterness and a bit of astringency. Very light with a fairly long dry finish.

Bottle. Black pour with a short tan head. Roasted malt, burnt caramel and hops in the nose. Pine seems the dominant hoppiness. Taste is pine, roasted malt, coffee, burnt caramel and floral hops. Aroma of big pine and resin hops with a faint bit of roastiness. The taste is big bitter hops, pine, resin, herbal with a roasted malt and burnt sugar finish. Medium bodied. Poured very dark brown in color with a medium-sized, creamy, dense, tan head that diminished but lasted throughout. Clear. Sparkling. Good lacing. Flavor is light to medium sweet and medium bitter. Tastes of hops, molasses, brown sugar, pine, resin, light coffee, slight diacetyl, and some wood. Medium body. Slightly viscous, then lightly dry texture. Average carbonation. Light butterscotch nose. Cola brown, thin tan head. Soy sauce and slightly rancid meat flavor. Butterscotch and char appear toward the end. Malty bitterness. Does not compete favorably in a style with so many stellar examples.
