wonderful fruity hoppy aroma. beautiful dark amber with ruby highlights. great caramel malts and piney citrusy hops. residual maltose and hop oils give a viscous full body. Cybercat (5894) - Georgia, USA - SEP 21, 2011
Pours a nice clear mahogany with a fairly thick, if not persistent, light tan head. Inviting aroma is malty with a good overtone of apple and cloves and a subtle earthy note. Luscious flavor has a malty core and tones of wood, caramel, fruit (mostly apple), nuts and spice and just a touch of bitterness. Full-bodied smooth texture has a raspy fizz that leaves a nice edgy finish. Long live the king! argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - DEC 22, 2009
Draft. Off-white head atop clear copper body. Aroma is moderately sweet, grapefruit/earthy, caramel, strawberry. Taste is moderately sweet, grapefruit, caramel, strawberry, earthy. Medium-full body, some resin, stickiness. johnnnniee (4346) - Bedford, New Hampshire, USA - MAR 24, 2011
Pours a beautiful deep shade of, well crimson, with a huge fluffy beige head that sticks to everything. Fruity and caramel malts mixed with earthy grassy citrus hops just about sum up the aroma on this one. I got an intense blast of citrus when I popped the cap open but that was short lived. Taste is caramel and dark pitted fruit mixed with an earthy spicy bitterness. Long lingering earthy grapefruit finish. Resinous and creamy mouthfeel, medium body and carbonation level. Wow I’m kind of impressed. Nice balanced red ale at a reasonable price compared to its peers. Great luscious creamy mouthfeel. Too bad its a "limited release" Points off for the screw top cap.

Peak Organic King Crimson is a cloudy, dull red ale with a big, fluffy, yellowish head that has outstanding retention and lacing. It has a smooth, grainy malt aroma. It smells like caramel with just a hint of sweetness. Spicy and grassy hops are present. It’s pretty full bodied and very smooth. The finish is dry and chewy. It tastes very malty with a good dose of melanoids. There’s perhaps a touch of sweetness and a resiny quality. A grassy, herbal bitterness comes in at the finish along with alcohol warmth. This is kind of like a doppelbock, but an ale. It’s flavorful and satisfying.

Draft – Chruchkey. Dark amberish-red, off-white creamy head. Toffee chips and caramel-molasses aromas warm to swirls of stewed raisins from start to finish. Well rounded flavors with dark fruit and toffee flavors riding a thick foundation of bitter grapefruit. Full bodied, soft carbonation, bittersweet finish. Might want to think about ways to bottle this one. Very well done… Ibrew2or3 (8660) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - AUG 19, 2011
The foiled screw top bomber pours deep ruby red to amber with tan head. The aroma is a mix of cherry, pine and thick sweet maltiness along with a bit of sugar and spicy hops around the edge. The taste begins with pine hops and cherry like notes and then moves into increasing levels of pine hop bitterness, some crystal malts and malt sweetness. Yeah, I dig this. bhensonb (15353) - Woodland, California, USA - APR 18, 2012
Bomber from the Folsom Whole Foods. Pours dark ruddy copper/amber with a creamy beige head. Which did a very slight ring lace eventually. Aromas of mixed citrus/floral/pine hop over a pretty roasted malt backbone. Full bodied. Flavor is a bit indecipherable, it’s almost like chocolate and pine. With some moderately darkish fruits. Somewhat challenging. But it’s hoppy as heck, has lots of structure, and makes my mouth writhe in ecstasy. Sorta kinda. It finishes bitter and arguably dry. Also arguably not dry. This is a beer which has been so gifted with ingredients that it cannot fail to be brilliant. mrhoppy (1288) - Santa Clara, California, USA - MAR 28, 2011
Let it warm up. Very bitter, grassy resin. Really smacks you in the face at first. Then as it warms blossoms into a big beautiful red headed hop bomb. A bit harsh but pretty good. TheBeerGod (6233) - Newport News, Virginia, USA - APR 8, 2012
Bottle. Gorgeous garnet in color with a tall, fluffy beige head. Aroma is lovely Simcoe hoppy notes, citrus, spicy hoppiness, caramel, and sweet malt. Taste is spicy hops, citrus zest, light pine, caramel, chewy malt and bready notes. Body is rich and medium-full with a full, creamy carbonation. Finishes with a blast of spicy hops, pine and citrus oils along with chewy caramel, bready malts and soft grains. Damn tasty beer and a nice surprise!
