COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Peak Maple Collaboration is a truly local project. It’s a new twist on our previously brewed Maple Oat Ale. We worked with local farmers and small businesses to craft this beer with Maine-grown organic oats from GrandyOats and Vermont-produced organic maple syrup from Butternut Mountain Farms. The Maple Collaboration is a copper-colored brew with a dynamic mouth feel from the organic oats and a subtle richness in the finish from the organic maple syrup. The beer is in support of Chefs Collaborative, the nation’s leading environmentally conscious culinary organization.

appearance: clear reddish orange brown, short light tan head. aroma: definite maple notes, over some toasted nuts, caramel, brown bread, and a hint of grass. taste: as the aroma indicates. finish: sweetish, but not cloying. notes: Not bad, but kind of forgettable. Draft at Gilly’s in Rockville.

Bottle, shared. Medium amber brown. Sweet and bready with a dry lightly hoppy finish. The maple syrup flavour wasn’t overwhelming, and while certainly on the sweet end, it remained decently drinkable. This was better than expected to be honest.

4 oz pour on draft at Spacebar. Clear golden amber with off-white head. Aromas of corn syrup, maple syrup. Tastes of maple syrup, brown sugar, corn syrup. Medium body with a dry finish. Like cheap corn syrup based maple syrup.

650ml bottle pours a reddish amber color with a finger of off-white head that leaves some spotted lacing behind. Aroma is dominated by maple with some herbal and caramel notes. Taste is a bold maple flavor with some herbal hop bitterness and a caramel malty sweetness. Light to medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall, this brew is unbalanced with too much maple, otherwise not bad for an amber ale.

Pours a dark amber, almost a copper from a bottle. Aroma of cloying sweet maple syrup, almost buttery in aroma and flavor too. Rather overly sweet, which I suppose was to be expected. I’m also just not a fan of ambers. Meh.

Bottle. Reddish with a small beige head. Smells of leaves, maple. Taste is heavy maple syrup, grass, leaves. Interesting. Not sure if I like it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From the 650 ml. bottle. 2015. batch. Handsome copper-amber pour with lingering cream colored head. There is maple syrup direct from the sap house all over the aroma with a more muted grain and oatmeal character. Medium body. Lots of maple sweetness in the taste too with a slight bitter finish. But the maple leads the way.

Pours a clear bright orange/golden with a thick off white head...great lacing and retention. Aroma has notes of sweet dry dry leaves...maple, honey, light toasted grain. Flavor is very sweet as well with notes of leaves, maple, earthy bitterness, and tea...fairly balanced. Mouthfeel is full and the finish lingers with tea and mild earthy bitterness.

Pours an amber color with a nice sweet maple syrup aroma! I taste some apples and maple syrup in my mouth! Would pair very well with a bacon rich breakfast. Alas, I have no breakfast right now so the rating will reflect that.

Poured a reddish color, very clear. Stable off-white head. Aroma has fruit with apples and some maple. Taste is sweet and malty with maple and more fruit. A bit too fruity. Maple doesn’t shine like I thought it would. The aftertaste is good with some maple flavors that the main taste didn’t have. Overall ok.
