Weiss Principal is the international love child of a German Hefe-Weisse and an American Double IPA. This unfiltered wheat beer employs a traditional German Weiss yeast, providing engaging banana and clove flavors. A stern dry-hopping of a pungent American hops provides pronounced citrus, pine & fruit notes.

22oz bottle. hazy gold with a large, fluffy, white head. peach, coconut milk, honey, pineapple and just a hint of banana in the nose. flavors of pineapple, peach, apricot, piney hops. kind of a jumbled mess. not really digging this much, except for the name.

JPDIPSO (6293) - Wauwatosa, USA - NOV 30, 2016

Hazy golden liquid with some small particles drifting about. Moderate, fairly lasting, dark cream colored head. Mild banana and some tropical fruit aromas. Grains to floor malt in the background. Scent don’t come together for me. Very sweet in the front with raisins, and hints of sweet alcohol. This take a real strong turn in the middle and is becomes very bitter and astringent. Finish and linger are far too brutal to continue. Too much acidic citrus. 9/11

Bottle at a tasting in Billdal 160721. Slightly hazy golden beer with a nice offwhite head. Malty caramel aroma, grapes, wheat notes, biscuits, some vinous notes. Malty caramel aroma, well hidden alcohol, spicy notes. Nice.

(Bottle) Amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with notes of orange, honey, bread, soapy wheat, spicy hops, pear, banana and a touch of clove. Fruity, hoppy taste with bread, grapefruit, pine needles, honey, a slightly soapy wheat character, tropical fruit and a generous resiny, piney bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Slightly schizophrenic fusion of weissbier and IPA, and a bit unbalanced with a fairly harsh bitterness. Still quite nice.

reggiedunlop (3726) - The dub c, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 5, 2015
Pours a clear orange with a medium off white head. Aroma has some tangy citrus...grapefruit and orange. Flavor is sweet and syrupy grapefruit that quickly turns very bitter...resinous and piney. Not much in the way of yeast quality...seems out of balance. Mouthfeel is medium/full and the finish is very bitter...resinous and piney almost medicinal. Underwhelming.

laakus (155) - Nossebro, - DEC 26, 2014
golden clear color with a typhical big foam that you would expect from a weisse. Nose is a strange perfumish fruity piney citrusy tone. Mouth is banana, bubble gum, with some bitter tones hit ting in the end. Not balanced or great at all. This bottle passed "best before date" some 7 months ago so that might not give any justice for this beer. Maybe better off when drunk fresh.

Gr0ve (2176) - Oslo, NORWAY - DEC 13, 2014
660 ml bottle. Hazy golden with a small to medium white head. Honey aroma with pungent grassy and piney hops. Crisp caramel flavours. Rich and malty but a light body. Unusual mix of wheat, cloves, banana and hops. Works quite well.

trapped (3661) - New York, TURKEY - AUG 16, 2014
Drought. Cloudy orange-yellow, off-white creamy head, clover and spices aroma, hoppy taste with spicy flavor, low carbonation, long finish. Quite spicy but interesting.

kidobutai (698) - Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA - MAY 2, 2014
A very complex beer. Very little head and no lacing, but a good fruity aroma. The taste is really a combination of barley and grains with heavy, almost syrupy tropical fruits.

cubs (10721) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - APR 30, 2014
Bottle via trade. Golden orange appearance with a light tan head. Some juicy hops in the nose but also a lot of bread and a bit of cardboard. Tangerine, mango fruity notes in the flavor. A little sappy / goopy resiny. Sharp bitterness and sweetness. Boozy. Gross.
