this was my CHEAP beer of choice when I lived in Texas and rented a cockroach infesred apartment for $75 a week... why does Miller make so many awful brews? Their Miller high-life is the best they make and that aint sayin much!
From old tasting notes. Hazy, honey gold color. Creamy white head. Malty, corn syrupy aroma. Tangy citrus fruit flavor. Light hop finish is brief and watery. BeerRenter76 (1028) - Texas, USA - JUL 15, 2016
Originally rated on 9/19/08. Back in the day i hear it was a pretty good beer, but times change and pearl certianly did. Taste of corn and grain, certainly is cheap enough though. GreatDane1632 (1169) - North Dakota, USA - JUL 3, 2015
Rated based on notes taken 22 June 2012 -- Cheap Texas bar beer. Meh overall. DrunkSanta410 (967) - Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA - MAY 25, 2015
This actually isn’t that bad. Better than quite a few macros, some light but decent flavors. Good body and carbonation for drinking in the summer. bpar73 (1171) - Bellaire, Michigan, USA - MAY 3, 2015
Looking through a list of old time beers an ran across this one that I had back in the day and forgot it existed. Must not have been too memorable, bad or good.

Grabbed a 12 pack of this just for a walk down memory lane. Drank alot of pearl when I was a teen and hadn’t seen it on the shelves in probably the last 20 to 30 years. As a teen I would pretty much drink any old beer this one had to have been better than it is now to have made me keep coming back. Think someone took feed corn, mashed it, and canned it. Taste like corn water and that is it. Not very good at all. Oh well another beer of my past that I just don’t get why I was drinking it all those years ago. Maybe cause it was cheap. 12oz snubby bottle (Old Notes)-Pours a lighter golden with no head. Aroma of grains, corn, and sweetness. Taste of the same with light hops. This light bodied brew always did the trick when playing beer pool plu sit had the puzzles on crown. Caytinator (1005) - Waco, Texas, USA - JUL 30, 2013
12oz can. Not the worst macro lager I’ve had - it’s a good bad beer. The smell is a little ugly and unappealing, but the taste is fine, just a touch of toast and slightly bitter. Some basic cereals and basic malts, nothing fancy with the light hops. Light body, well carbonated. What can you say, it’s a "classic" - whatever that means. docsteigs (542) - Texas, USA - JUL 20, 2013
No major deficiencies. A macro light lager with a little but more nose and body than competitors, and has a nice pour with head retention too. Good lawnmower. zach8270 (4021) - Henrietta, New York, USA - APR 24, 2013
(can - 12 oz - The Esquire - San Antonio, TX) Pale gold pour with a soapy white head. Generic beer aroma with some light corn and grass. Flavor is mild corn, grass and can taste. Watery but refreshing when in a hot climate.
