Here at PBC we produce a ‘Classic Hefe-Weizen’ in the true Bavarian style. A light, cloudy, golden hue and thick frothy, foamy head tells of a very special yeast strain used to produce this bier. In true German style we use a specific yeast strain, delbruckii. While fermenting, the yeast itself is responsible for the flavors of banana & clove which makes this one of the most unique biers of the world. Peter has been brewing this recipe for many years and has collected more than a half of a dozen medals, do not pass up the experience of this lovely libation. Hazy yellow orange in color... Aroma of wheat, cloves, banana... Flavor is light and creamy, strange off flavor on the finish, but otherwise decent... Average hefe ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Cloudy soft yellow pour, very thin white head. Nose is hay and yest, muted. Little on the sweet side. Middle is light roasted malt, touch of banana. Finish more of the same. Just OK.

Andrew196 (1902) - Katy, Texas, USA - FEB 14, 2016
Slightly hazy straw colored, flimsy head. Aroma was hay, grain and some hoppiness. Crisp on the tongue initially, a bit grainy again yielding to a sweet finish with apple, a bit creamier in the finish which helped.

dfinney23 (3271) - Houston, Texas, USA - NOV 2, 2015
Pours hazy straw with a fluffy white head. Clove and banana aroma, though weaker than the best hefes around. Taste is heavier on the banana, even weaker on the spice.

Bottle into a pint glass. Pours a slightly hazy yellow, with a small white head that persists. Nose is a very faint aroma of esters and yeast, cloves and banana. Taste is very faint, with some yeast notes, and is similar to the nose. Watery. OK if there’s nothing better, and a definite step up from macro adjunct swill.

Patrickctenchi (6590) - Cox’s Knob, columbus, Indiana, USA - JUN 18, 2015
Bottle: Hazy, bubbly, light yellow-gold with a small white head. Banana, lemon, citrus, wheat aroma. Taste is lemony tart, wheat malt. Very bright and lively.

It has the generic taste of a Hefeweizen, but I personal feel like it is missing several key factors (like a strong yeast presence/flavor) Very little carbonation and lacing. It looks like a lager, as in it is pale yellow in color.

Bottle (thanks blutt59). Lemon, light banana, clove, wheat malt, and hay aroma. Hazy pale yellow with moderate head. Lightly sweet tangy lemon, orange, light banana/clove, and wheat malt flavor. Moderate acidity and carbonation. Pleasant.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a medium, well retained white head, over a slightly hazy, effervescent, yellow (SRM 3) body......nose is cereal malts, light banana, minimal clove, no hops.....taste is light colored fruits (pear, apple) light citrus (lemon) hints of clove, minimal banana/bubblegum, no hops, balance to the yeast......mouth feel, light body, no alcohol, high carbonation. While this meets the light end of the style, it is really quite low in yeast based esters and phenols. Perhaps a different yeast or fermentation temperature increase would give them a boost. BJCP 5/3/10/4/5

Bottle poured a cloudy gold with a lasting white head. Aromas of wheat, yeast, citrus and light clove. Palate was light bodied and smooth. Flavors of wheat, yeast, citrus and clove with a smooth finish.
