Cask, Clarence, New Brighton. Clear amber colour with a thin white head. Weird aroma, some sweetish fruity notes in there, maybe some orange or apricot, but also something that put me in mind of the glue you used to get in pots as a kid that isn’t altogether that appealing. Flavour a real let down, clean but thin and rather limp in all areas otherwise. Where was the ’variety’ of hops ? Having spent a fair bit of time on Hilbre I couldn’t help but feel the island is worthy of a better beer to represent its name. Benjii (3050) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - OCT 3, 2011
