Draft at Peg’s. Pours pitch black with a small brown head. Aroma is fantastic, just incredible. Would give it a 12 if there was a scale for that. Tons of hazelnuts, sweet nicely roasted fullbodied. Flavor is just as great as the aroma, velvet smooth sweet a bit astringent and leasantly bitter. Excellent smooth sweet nutty malty and a bit bitter finish. Just love this beer, absolutely the best during the TBBW so far. biggsbowler (625) - Port St. Lucie, Florida, USA - MAR 15, 2013
Draft at Peg’s. I about crapped myself with this one. Pours a dark black with some viscosity and a little bit of head. The smell of the hazelnuts just took me over. I couldn’t stop smelling it. Tasted of hazelnut, coffee, chocolate, and a little vanilla. OMG, this beer was absolutely amazing!!! oh6gdx (26488) - Vasa, FINLAND - JUN 5, 2013

Bar, Copenhagen. Pitch black colour, not much head. Aroma is nutty, mild roasted malts, some toffee, chocolate and mild coffee as well. Brilliant! Flavour is very similar, nutty and chocolaty with some toffee, leather and roasted notes kicking in. Beautifully balanced. This was probably my favourite beer over the 3,5 hectic days in Copenhagen during the CPH BF 2013.
Tap @ Mikkeller, Viktoriagade. Small head with short duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are vegetables, roast malt, nuts, coffee, licorice, wood and hops. Lovely!

On tap at Peg’s. Huge hazelnut and coffee aromas. Big coffee, rich hazelnut, luscious dark roasted malts, subtle booze and woody notes. Great mouthfeel and body. Impressive.

Black pour, disappearing brown head. Nose is huuuuge hazelnuts, some coffee, but the hazelnut aroma is ridiculous. The taste is hazelnut butter, sweet coffee, chocolate, some coffee liquer. Smooth medium-full mouthfeel. One of the best 3-4 BA beers I’ve had from Cycle/Peg’s. newcigarz (42) - Florida, USA - MAR 11, 2013
Draft at Peg’s barrel aged event. Probably the best beer of the day. Deep black color with very little head. Aroma is an intoxicating mix of hazelnuts, coffee, caramel, and sweet cream. Taste is a sweet and silky mix of chocolate, caramel, coffee and hazelnut. Amazing. Nocturne (1992) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - SEP 20, 2013
UPDATED: DEC 29, 2013 On tap at Mikkeller Bar SF. Darkest brown with a small lighter brown head. An absolutely ridiculous amount of hazelnut in the aroma! Stunning. Super roasty, chocolatey and nutty taste. Light dark fruit and cherry at the fringes. I read that this was barrel aged; what’s most impressive is how the barrel doesn’t hog the limelight but subtly enhances the beer. Although hazelnuts dominate, everything seems to work in harmony. I thought this was absolutely fantastic. jredmond (8283) - New York, New York, USA - MAR 10, 2013
Draft at Pegs with Maggi during the Barrel-aged event. Pours a pitch black with no head, essentially the same as the rest. Aroma is wonderful hazelnut coffee, sweet chocolate, melted caramel candy and vanilla. Mouthfeel is creamy and rich with notes of vanilla, hazelnut, sweet chocolate, coconut, rich espresso, and toffee. One of the standouts of the day. phredrik (1024) - Copenhagen (formerly Aalborg), DENMARK - MAY 23, 2013
This beer is liquid nutella. Smells like the hazelnut and caramel pie that my grandma makes. Aroma is unbelievably hazelnutty, sweet caramel and fudge, bourbon and vanilla - sweet all over the place. Gotta love it. In the mouth it has more roasted notes of chocolate and liquorice, and the barrel aging comes through with vanilla, coconut and alcohol. The hazelnut aroma in this beer is unbelievable. Almost smells like nutella, and the nutella is the most divine smell in the world. This is great!
