Draft at Peg’s. A dark black beer with a thick tan head. Aroma of coffee, hops and roasted malts. Taste is complex, roasted coffee, molasses and hops are all here. A good brew! markwise (5441) - North of Tampa, Florida, USA - JUN 25, 2010
On draft at Peg’s. Pours dark brown with creamy tan head. Nose is dark chocolate, milk chocolate, cocoa, and a hint of roast. Flavor is sweet and similar to the nose. Mouthfeel is creamy and delicious. Great stout. Ibrew2or3 (8614) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - MAR 30, 2010
On tap at the ‘010 FL Brewer’s Ball. Pours deep dark brown with deep copper edges and nice tan head. The aroma is an interesting combination of spicy hops, roasty malts and rich yummy chocolate with a touch of grapefruit and hop resin around the edges. The taste is smooth and coats the tongue with chocolate and malt roastiness and then punctuated by sort of grapefruit and spicy hop bitterness. It stays roasty torward picking up a light amount of sweet caramel into the finish. It dries out a touch with dark roastiness. MeadMe (1662) - Fishhawk, Florida, USA - MAR 8, 2010
On tap at Brewer’s Ball.
A: Pours deep dark black with a very small head. Little retention or lace.
S: Nice roast with notes of chocolate, coffee, and mild dark fruit ntoes.
T: Lots of rich deep roasted malt. Sweet chocolate for sure with strong dark fruit notes that seem to blend well with the roast. Comes off fairly aggressively hopped. Nice bitter hoppy finish.
M: On the fuller side of body, rich, pretty smooth. Like the hopped up finish.
