Offputting blue cheese aroma juxtaposed against a taste that isnt particularly funky and has a nice lemony tartness. An OK example of the style, although substantially worse than the regular Rainbow Jelly Donut. Berliner Bash.

On tap at Pegs during the Berliner Bash. Served in a mini snifter. Pours a fairly-bright pinkish-red color with a touch of brown. Nose carries loads of fruit. Hefty raspberry presence. Not much in the way of backing wheat or general Berliner character. Flavor is heavy on the raspberry with a touch of citrus through the finish. Light body and heavy fruit. Moderate acidity. Pretty good.

On draft at Pegs for Berliner Bash 2012. Pours a pink kool-aid color with a white head. Nose is raspberries, tart citrus, lactic character, and sour notes. Flavor is similar- big tartness, raspberries, tart and slightly sour berries, and a mild sweetness underneath that the tartness would just not let come through. Nice beer.

UPDATED: MAY 25, 2012 Draft at Pegs with Linh during the Berliner Bash 2012. Pours a deep, hazy pink body with white lacing. Aroma is beautiful strawberry, raspberry and other tart fruits. Mouthfeel is refreshing and drinkable, nice acidity with notes of fresh fruit, funky puke, and rank as stinky, aged cheese. mmmmm.

Tap at Pegs for Berliner Bash. Neon pastel pink pour with thick, pink foam. Whoa. Nose is phenolic, berries, strawberry rhubarb pie. Taste is grainy, husky, lots of wort character. Raw. Seedy blueberry and raspberry. Small vanilla. Low acid, small lactic yogurt. Quenching.

Smells like funky bleu cheese. The aroma is quite powerful but the the beer tastes clean and tart. with some berry sweetness to round it out.

Tried on tap at Pegs around Hunahpus Day. Incredible beautiful beer. Hazy grapefruit red-never orange appearance served in snifter glass. The funk smell of this beer was incredible. A cheese (someone else said Feta and Feet). We were sitting outside and my wife claimed she could smell it as she was returning to bar. Very poignant, to the point of almost off putting. However, the taste was a little more subtle. Some of the same funk, but definitely get the lime and raspberry. The sour-sweet-funk were working in their various degrees. A little syrupy (I suppose that is the jelly donut aspect coming out). Light and crisp mouthfeel. Dry tart finish. Very unique beer and pretty good once you get paste the smell.

No head. Hazy pink and cloudy. Smells like Timothy hay, soaked with guinea pig pee. And theres also a nutty character. Sour, with a slight sweetness, and a hint of acetic acid. A tart yoghurty character with light raspberry fruitiness and a tomatoey finish. Very strange. I could see people having a lot of problems with this one, but for me the flaws were kind of charming. Granted, I probably wouldnt drink it again.

Draft CCBs Hunahpus Day 2012 Murky red ale with a pink head. The bouquet is a medley of cornmeal, stinky feet, red berries and aged cheese. Medium-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and pillow-soft carbonation. The flavor and finish are both sour, fruity and grainy. Sourness fades to tartness and then lingers a good while after each sip. Easy to pretend this is some type of over-sparged and/or over-mashed fruit Lambic brewed in an old barn tucked away in some rural Belgian farming town. Ill go out on a limb and guess that Im the only person who enjoyed this at Hunahpus Day.
