On draft at Pegs, poured a nice dark black color with aromas of roast, chocolate, light sour wood, a touch of booze, and some chocolate. Flavors are the same, with only a light sourness to it. Wow was this beer awesome, couldn’t believe this was still on and I got to try it. kudos to Doug for this world class stout. stevencon (522) - Sarasota, Florida, USA - DEC 28, 2012
On tap at pegs. Pitch black pour dark tan head. Great lacing. Aroma of roasted malts wood pulp coffee with milk. Light acetone that hints at some funk. Beer starts out full body but soon lightens up in mouth. Sweet roasted grains and chocolate. Beer definitely has a tart finish while still being sweet. Wood pulp lingers on taste buds. Nice! A sour Imperial Stout. The funk is a little on the back end while the beer is cold but really comes out as it warms up. Gives a really interesting green apple flavor to go along with the roasty taste of a good Imperial Stout. It’s nice to see them release this even though they knew it was infected and telling that it is exactly what it is. Very interesting Sour/Stout mix.
