on tap Cajun sour fest. nice classic clean Berliner, touch of graininess with moderate sour Thorpe429 (5122) - , Illinois, USA - JUN 5, 2012
On tap at Peg’s during the Berliner Bash. Served in a mini snifter. Pours a nice light golden color with a thin fizzy white head that falls quickly. The nose brings some white and a bit of light citric character with some backing lactic acidity. Flavor is slightly tart with a touch of citrus and wheat. Light body and mild acidity. A very nice berliner. jcartamdg (3535) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 22, 2012
dark golden copper with no head, aroma of funk and wheat, taste follows with lacto punch. decent classic berliner jredmond (8626) - New York, New York, USA - MAY 21, 2012
Draft with Linh at Peg’s during the Berliner Bash 2012. Pours a hazy amber orange body with white lacing. Aroma is light funk, grain, and yeast. Mouthfeel is carbonated almost like a cider, with subtle notes of grain, funk, yeast, and a light tartness. GT (10017) - San Diego, California, USA - MAY 20, 2012
Tap at Peg’s Cantina. Pours a full haze golden. Creamy foam. Deeper dirty blonde. Nose is malty, sticky, candies. Taste is tart, starchy, heavy wheat, grain, raw and rustic. Lemonade, lactic acid palate. Very rich and on style. Amazing palate. Wish the nose was a little fresher, sharper.

On draft at Berliner Bash, poured a light straw yellow color, aromas of some straw, tart, light sour fruit, and a touch of wheat. Flavor is the same, nice and light, refreshing overall in the heat. adam42381 (627) - Fort Myers, Florida, USA - SEP 12, 2011
Review from notes at Peg’s Cantina on 9/10/11.
Draft poured into a footed pilsner glass.
Appearance: Poured a clear light gold with a 2 finger foamy snow white head. Excellent head retention and lacing.
Smell: Sour grapes with a hint of vinegar.
Taste: Wine grape hulls, muscadines and a touch of vinegar. Very sour beer with sweet notes mixed in. While the description may not say much, it was an excellent flavor.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied with a decent amount of carbonation. Very smooth.
Drinkability: Excellent drinkability. Goes down easy.
Overall: Excellent beer overall. This was one of the highlights from a long weekend of drinking a lot of different beers. Give this one a try if you get the chance. DialSquare (5129) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - SEP 10, 2011
Had this on tap at the first Hunahpu release -- remember that a buddy got it and he wasn’t a fan. I drank the rest and was strangely intrigued (new to the sour vibe at the time). Finally found the scrap of paper with my brief rating: straw, lemon, green apple, funk, barf (in a good way?) and - sour, tart, acidic. Shared by the tampa crew at the SC release last year. These dudes brought up some big guns to share with NC crew--big uppps! This was quite a surprise and memorable. Really nice berliner. Tart, lemon, sour wheat. Delicious. It was on point. As good as some of Paul’s berliners (which are my favorite in the WORLD). Thanks officerfriendly!
