(Amazing, the forgotten ratings I find in files B & C on my voice recorder) Draft... Berliner Bash on the Bay 2012... Doug & John must have used Mississippi’s entire watermelon yield from 2011, because this thing is a watermelon beast. I’ve found watermelon doesn’t have the balls to really shine when used in beer. Not so in this case. Smells and tastes like a tart, fruity, watermelon beverage - watermelon juice on steroids. I love watermelon. A lot of my relatives in Arkansas grow and harvest the things for a living. It’s sweet and crunchy. What’s not to like. Finally a beer that truly captures all the essences of this fantastic, southern fruit/vegetable/gourd and allows its sweet, juicy, fruity components to shine. The Berliner Weisse base only makes me enjoy it more-so, because I’m a sucker for sour/acidic/acetic beverages. The acidity isn’t as high as I would like, but it’s approaching it. I really enjoyed the fuchsia color of this beer along with the large, pink, fluffy head. tricyclist (1125) - Florida, USA - JUL 4, 2012
Draft at Peg’s. Aroma is mild, light tartness, slight funk, watermelon, citrus, light cheese notes, there’s another tart fruit I can’t place also... Flavor is citric up front with a lingering watermelon flavor, mild tartness that doesn’t overpower. Lighter body, and beautiful for the heat in St Pete. Well done! burg326 (5630) - Florida, USA - JUN 24, 2012
On draft at Berliner Fest, poured a cloudy yellow color, aroma is light lactic qualities with a kiss of watermelon. Flavors are the same with a touch of wheat, and a slightly tart aftertaste. jredmond (8839) - New York, New York, USA - JUN 15, 2012
