Quack-Duck (9540) - Down South, GERMANY - MAY 16, 2008
bottle. Clear golden-brown colour, medium-sized head. Aroma of roasetd malt and caramel. Malty flavours with hints of caramel and roasted malt, slightly fruity. Hoppy and dry in the finish.

Bottle 25cl @Auchan. A clear amber beer with medium head. Nose is caramel like. Aroma is malty, on caramel, alcohol is quite present, very bitter and peppery. Less interesting than than the sping amber beer. Bit disapointed.

Test vom 21.9.2009, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 12,9,8,8,10,9 - 9,05

Light brown body, fairly nice except that the tan head collapses quickly. Caramel, biscuits, even oatmeal (but only is maltyness, not character). No hops here. Sweet taste of simple malts and some brown sugar, yet too thin to provide a good mouth feel. Big bubbles don’t help either. It has a nicer drinkability than most French blond’s but is too sweet to be called sessionable. The brewer took some short-cuts here, I think. (25cl bottle from Auchan)

Bona cervesa, equilibrada i gustosa. Buena cerveza, equilibrada y sabrosa.

Bottled. Clear amber coloured with a small off white head. Aroma of malts, orange peel and spices. Flavour of malts and fruits with notes of orange peel.

I sampled this on tap at Culture Bière, Champs Elisées, Paris. Pelforth Ambrée is a drinkable Amber Ale. While the color is a nice deep amber, there is a quickly disappearing head. The aroma is a bit hoppy and the flavor is malty with less complexity than desired.
