Bottle @ home. Opaque pitch black color, average sized dark brown head that diminishes fairly quickly. Aroma is malts, whiskey, some peat and a hint of sweet ripe dark fruits. Taste malts, some peat, whiskey, lightly barrel influence, a bit sweet and somewhat bitter. Very nice whiskey notes. Medium to full body, suitable carbonation. Lovely beer.

0.33 l bottle from ’hetbiermoment.nl’. Pitch black with a thin, soapy, quickly diminishing, brown head. Sweetish, roasty and peaty aroma of dark chocolate, some coffee, tar, licorice and whisky. Sweetish, slightly roasty, very peaty taste of dark chocolate, some coffee, tar, some iodine, licorice and whisky, followed by a long, heavily peaty, burning finish. Medium to full body, oily mouthfeel, flat. Very intense, the barrel is very dominant, but the base beer is just strong enough to handle it. Very good!

Bottle: Chouffe glass: Pitch black body with a brown head. Beautiful thick aroma: peat, roast, chocolate, iodine, malt roast, sweet tar, hint of soy, medicinal, some liquorice, whiskey and an alcohol sprinkle... Flavour is roast, peat, mocha, liquorice, iodine, chocolate, bitter, nutty, malty, light laurel, light medicine, some malt roast and sweets. Delicious! Aftertaste is malty, nutty, peat, chocolate, mocha, some iodine and some bitters... Low carbo, thicker creamy silky mouthfeel, full bodied. Beautiful and tasty! A lot is happening and it’s very balanced! Quite amazing for such a small brewery who’s not known for it’s (great) Imperial Stouts. Very good! Very well done!
