Beak Breaker is our newest homage to big, aromatic IPAs—we reimagined what a double IPA could be in 2016 with all the new hop varieties available today and even a new dry hop injection process we just developed (Mosaic, Citra and Centennial hops).

Bomber from Capitol Beer. Pours bright gold with a white head. Aroma is rather dankish; Citrus for sure. Arguably some floral. Full bodied or nearly. Flavor is lots of hop, with a decent and detectable caramel backbone. Flavor is hop burn/dankish - lots of resin/citrus with some earth and fruit. Lots going on here. Very tasty.

Bottle. Pours a clear copper color with a medium white head. A big sweet resin and citrus nose. The flavor is big hot resin, oranges, sticky sweet hops, big malty backbone. Solid. Pretty hot.

marcus (11079) - Sacramento, California, USA - SEP 13, 2016
Bottle from Cap Tap. Pours dark gold with a thick off-white head and a musty toffee and citrus aroma. There is a hearty caramel malt flavor with a pretty bitter finish. A bit out of balance - hope it’s not due to the new injection process.

raphael (1324) - Portland, Oregon, USA - SEP 12, 2016
Love the name, love Pelican, & the price was very good at Belmont Station. Distinctive aroma, a little swampy, fresh shit, yeast and alcohol. Does a good job on the tongue. Immediate warming. Flavopr of resin, caramel, lemon—pretty bitter but doesn’t get harsh. Slightly amber yellow with white head. Bitter finish.

Tasting at Matt’s
Golden color, clean. The hopping is earthy, quite animal, Mosaic character, some orange peel: the mouthfeel is not too thick, moderately sweet, the alcohol is balancing the body, the malt is not bad, and the final is piney and resiny.
Very good.

22 oz. bottle, pours a hazy copper golden with a small white head. Aroma is quite dank, with piney and citrus hops, dank herbal notes, and dry biscuity notes. Flavour is fairly dank, with notes of dank herbal hops, some pine, and biscuity malt. Very dank, with a good balance between malt and hops. Very good.
