On tap at Bde&. An unclear dark amber colored beer with a dense finger thick light beige head leaving sexy lacing. The aroma is rather hoppy, piney and lightly citrusy, with caramel and roasted malts in the back. Its full bodied, nicely carbonated and semi sweet, with a delicious bitterness. Pine cones, citrus zest and caramel malts in the flavor. Some bread notes. Really long finish with dark malts in the back, some sweetness, and a healthy dose of hop flavors and bitterness. Nice indeed, very moreish. 161202

Tap @ Bakgrden. Unclear dark orange body with a small but lacing off-white head. Aroma is strong caramel malt, some biscuit, ripe fruit and hint of pine. Flavor is sweet caramel malt, bread, dry fruit, ripe fruit, some pine and quite biter. Full bodied and long lasting aftertaste with caramel malt and bitter hops. Close to what I would describe as an Imperial brown ale.

This is a pretty good IPA. Just a little dark but not by much. I admit, not only did I try it because I love Pelican brewery but because I also love Dirty Bird Records. Im sure they are unrelated but I dont care. The connection is there for me.

On draught at the brewpub. The beer pours a hazy reddish-copper color with a medium white head that diminishes gradually to an outer ring. Strings of lacing. The aroma consists of fruit, hops and malt. Medium body with flavors of citrusy hops, caramel malt and a bit of pine. The finish is moderately bitter with a fruity hop aftertaste. Above average overall.

Pours cloudy amber. Aroma is a nice baoance of malt and hops. Taste is balanced, lots of malts, and hop bitterness finishing.

Caramel and biscuit malts in greater proportions than I like in the style, but enough sharp and bitter hops to more than balance that out. Would prefer more hop centric nose. 22.

650ml bottle. Biscuit nose again which must be from similar malts. Light body but has a strong malt and hop backbone.

Gylden brun klar med fingerhyt hvitt skum. St lukt, karamell, fudge og sjokolade. Lukter godis alts, mellers.... Middels fylde. St start, karamell, noe brent, sjokolade, noe kaffe. Middels bitterhet kommer utover, og sitter lenge.

Self described as copper colored (amber); clean, with large head. The aroma is a not metallic. The caramel flavor is not appealing, although at least its dry, hence not chewy; strong bitterness, resiny, no fruity hops.
Quite old style. Powerful but not sexy.
