COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Five Fin is named for the five ocean-going species of fish that benefit from the Salmon SuperHwy Project. This comprehensive effort works to reconnect ocean-going fish species with their spawning habitat. As long-time advocates for this amazing place, Pelican Brewing Company donates a portion of proceeds from every barrel of Five Fin to the Salmon SuperHwy Project. Inspired by the crystal clear waters of the six Tillamook County rivers benefitting from the Salmon SuperHwy Project, Five Fin is a uniquely “West Coast” take on the classic Pilsner beer style. Crafted with a unique blend of Centennial and Sterling hops from the Pacific Northwest and Mandarina Bavaria hops from Germany, Five Fin marries the hop-driven flavors of tangerine, pineapple, and lemon zest with classic spicy, floral notes, all balanced against a toasty malt character.

On draft at the brewpub. Pours a clear Gold with an off white head. Bread and biscuit aroma. Flavors are moderately sweet caramel. Smooth finish

Sampled at the brewpub on my honeymoon - It pours bright yellow with a white head. It has a medium crisp body with a moderate amount of carbonation. The taste has pils malt, spice, grass, pepper and a zest finish. Pretty good.

Bomber. Spicy hop aroma with notes of toasted malt, floral and tangerine hops. Pours pale straw colored with one finger of off white head that has excellent retention and little lacing. Starts starts with toasted malt and tangerine hop flavors as well as some grass. Finishes dry, crisp and refreshing with spicy and floral hop flavors lingering on the palate slightly. Pretty nice pils.

Nice Pilsner. Snappy a little hop bite. “West Coast” pilsner indeed. Has a little more hop breath and malt backbone than your typical European pilsner. Well made. Will drink more.

Bottle purchased at Vinmonopolet Langnes. Lasting one-finger thick, white head leaving clingy lacing behind. Bright golden body. Rounded aroma of herbal hops and pale malts. Nice blended taste of noble hops, mild ripe lemon and bread. Mid-dry, rounded ending with restrained bitterness. Well made version of the style. Perfect with our roasted chicken dish. (Tromsø 29.10.2017).

If there's 2 things that the West Coast loves it's making light-bodied yet heavily-hopped beers and naming said beers after some species of sea creature. That's a formula for success if I've ever heard one. Pour is clear and golden. Grassy, citrusy, and spicy hop aromatics. A bit of gainy malt in the background. Flavor is crisp and hoppy. Pineapple, grapefruit, and orange tastes with some peppery grass, nectar, and fruit peel. There is bitterness, but it doesn't linger - finish is clean and satisfying. I could make a lot of this disappear.

Draft pint appearing straw gold with moderate amount of head. Not really much of a pilsner, but a craft pale lager. The aroma strikes of minty herbs, and the light citrus, cereal grain, and herb palate finishes dry with no lingering aftertaste. This doesn't knock my socks off, but I find it to be extremely clean tasting.

Draught @ Venti’s, Salem. Hazy, medium head. Herbal, earthy hop. Touch of yeast, bright, fresh sterling and mandarina...clean malts, lots of bitterness and hop complexity.
