On tap at Pelican Pub and Brewery, Pacific City, OR. Deep gold with thin white head. Lots of hop on aroma. Quite perfumed. Quite harsh hop. Harsh Cascade hop aroma. Bit of grapefruit. Moderate malts to give it some backbone and then strong hop finish that verges on the sharp. Very drying on the palate. mcberko (18998) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 1, 2013
22 oz. bottle, pours a clear golden / copper with a medium off-white head. Aroma of big juicy fruity hops, resin, and a big caramel malt backbone. Flavour brings out big juicy resinous hops, a bit of floral hops, and a bit juicy caramel malt. Very well-balanced, though perhaps maybe a bit too much residual sugar. Finishes quite astringency and fairly juicy. Good stuff, but I prefer the regular India Pelican Ale.Oakes (18873) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 1, 2006

22 oz. bottle, pours a sharp hazy golden with a light ahead. Great aroma of hops, citrus, pine and spices. Flavour of very spicy hops. Tremendous IPA.
Golden-amber colour. Rich piney aroma with grapefruit and breadcrust accents. Fresh, rich hops - grapefruit, pine needles and wood mix with toffee and breadcrust. Dry, substantial body but never resiny nor cloying. Outstanding example. rlgk (18844) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - OCT 2, 2005
Orange/amber color. Very hoppy aroma, but there is also a balance with fruity notes from peach, apples and citrus. Extremely hoppy flavor, grassy and dry, but also with some fruits showing. Very nice. TBone (18228) - Pori, FINLAND - OCT 3, 2005

Dark golden, nice medium-sized brownish head. Strong hayish hoppy nose. Medium-bodied. Good balance in the hopping with a late bite. Long hoppy aftertaste, some malts in it too.
Orange pour with a white head. Grassy, floral, and piny hop profile. Some citrus, sweet caramel, and bread. Mild tropical fruit notes, too. Fairly sweet on the palate. Caramel and tropical fruit. Grass, flowers, and pine. Light grapefruit, maybe some orange. A light bitterness to the finish.Ferris (16537) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - AUG 21, 2012

A: The beer pours a clear golden color with a big white head.
S: Pine and citrus peel hop notes are present right away. Plenty of grapefruit and some mild grass and floral notes are also present, as is a bready malt aroma.
T: Quite bitter with a very green flavor, almost like undercooked potatoes. Slightly woody with lots of grass and citrus peel. Not as much citrus flavor as I had anticipated, given the aroma.
M: Medium in both body and carbonation.
O: A pretty strange flavor, and I wasn’t the hugest fan.
UPDATED: AUG 29, 2015 Bottle - Heavy citrus hops on the nose. Cloudy orange with a small dissipating head. Very pronounced hops and a bubble gum sweetness. Also get a bit of soap. Long bitter finish. bhensonb (15765) - Woodland, California, USA - JUN 9, 2007
Draft at the Pelican. Light amber color with a white head. Citrus hop aroma, perhaps with a hint of pine. Lots of resin. Starts with pine, some backing malt. Medium body. Citrus follows, but for me it’s strongly hop. Nice clean bitter finish. Pine seems to last longest. djd07 (15547) - Houston, Texas, USA - MAY 3, 2015
