At Rock Bottom Chicago Real Ale Dinner: Deep brown with reddish highlights producing a small tan head and good lace. The aroma hints of caramel malts, toffee, cherries, apple, floral hops, and a dusty yeast ester. The taste starts with sweet mocha tones with underlying bitterness. A light fruity sourness is detected. The finish is woody, smoky, and some coffee grinds notes. Medium-bodied with a chalky and sticky mouthfeel. Dark, nutty brown colour. . . full bubbly tan head. Blackberry hop aroma with sweet truffles, almond oils, peanuts and a light alcohol tang. Roasted bitterness that makes for a fresh start on the tongue. Flavour turns fruity and sweet - cherries, plums and raisins. Slight peppery spice in the finish, enjoyable.

Black color with a light tan head & moderate lacing. The aroma is dry, sweaty, light roast & sweet fruit. The flavor is roasted too with the roast standing out and some sweet caramel in the tail. Fairly 2 dimensional with the roast but still creamy and balanced.
