COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our interpretation of the Scottish Export style is coppery amber in color and features a mild, malty aroma. The malty flavor is balanced with Willamette hops to add a little "snap" to the flavor and finish of this rich ale.

Pours with an off-white head that quickly disperses. Color is a light amber/copper. Aromas of light caramel and toast. Flavors are mild malts and a bit of sweetness that finishes quickly with clean hop acidity. Fairly light-bodied with a crisp mouthfeel and good carbonation.

Pelican Brewing, Cannon Beach. Thin cream, malty clear brown. Bitter copper grain nose. Smooth, light honey malt sip. Creamy, lighter alcohol flavor. Not too metallic. Odd, not great.

Keg @ Pelican. Amber pour with a tight white head. Mellow nose. Gentle toasted malt. Some caramel. Flavor is similar. Malt-forward. Nicely balanced, not overly sweet or arduous to drink. Light pine accent on the finish. Medium body, fine carb. Well made.

On tap @ Kick. Slightly unclear reddish amber with a nice, dense tan head. Aroma has fruit, berries and a hint of butterscotch. Flavor has smooth toffee, fruity/berry like aroma and the same butterscotch, not much bitterness. Fine body and average aftertaste where the butterscotch becomes a bit dominating. A decent beer more than less destroyed by butterscotch, still far from undrinkable and not directly unpleasant at all in smaller amounts. A bit weird.

On tap at beer mongers. The aroma had clean roasted Brit malt, caramel smoothness and clean earth. It has a medium crisp body with moderate sharp carbonation. The taste has clean caramel, bread, Scottish maltiness, and a nice richness going on. Solid.

Draft to taster at source in Cannon Beach pour copper with thin white head. Nose caramel and toffee, with some fruity ester. Taste sweeter malt and caramel. Lot sweet finish.

This is sweet but not overbearingly so. The flavor is malty. A decent beer from a style I don’t enjoy much.
