Bottle shared by David, thanks man! Not sure of the vintage but let’s say it is from 2011 (I believe it would have been said if it were older). I didn’t take much notes but I will say that this is a really great beer that I wouldn’t get bored of drinking and is on par with CCB Leon, GI King Henry and every world class barleywines! I do remember it being a little more intense on the barrel aromas and flavors though.
Bottle from a trade. Many thanks Ryan! Hazy amber/brown colour, some foam. Very complex nose of raisins, plums, sweet bourbon, toast and oak. Very nice sipper. ACHops (1643) - Seattle, Washington, USA - OCT 15, 2017
On tap @ Toronado Seattle. Pours super dark inky thick black with thin creamy mocha head. Aroma is sweet dark chocolate, soy sauce umami notes, sweet boozy flavor that lingers through the back. Taste is super thick sticky mouthfeel, rich roasty toffee malt, big oaky boozy scotch barrel notes on the back. Really rich, layered, and delicious - more of a modern barleywine style than a classic English version. Tons of big flavor here. Ktwse (5472) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 22, 2017
Pours black with low tan head. Aroma of bourbon, chocolate, coffee, dried fruit. Taste is boozy, dried fruit, alcohol. Rich and creamy body with soft carbonation. Klimaet (3022) - Aarhus N, DENMARK - AUG 13, 2017
Tap @ Toronado Seattle. Pours very dark brownish black with a small brown head. Aromas of vanilla, caramel, dark chocolate, light booze, bread. Taste has a lot of caramel, sweet malt, bourbon fudgey goodness, light bitterness, vanilla, booze, bread. Fuck me. Nische (2526) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - JUL 22, 2017
Bottle shared by wickedestman, many thanks. Dark brown with a tan head. Big, decadent bourbon and vanilla aroma with loads of caramel and toffee. Big oaky barrel taste with vanilla, bourbon and chocolate. Very dry.

A very nice barleywine. Not the most unique, but does the basics very well. Very smooth. Pours a deep orange-red with a tan head. Smells of strawberries and citrus. Taste is smooth and sweet, everything works great together. Starts with citrus, strawberries, followed by whiskey and caramel in the finish. Vanilla aftertaste. Very nice!

Bomber, 2016 vintage. Wonderful boozy dark fruit aroma with notes of caramel, toffee, vanilla, bourbon and oak. Pours deep caramel brown with a very thin light brown head that has no retention or lacing. Starts with rich booze soaked dark fruit flavors with nice notes of vanilla and bourbon that also has a rich, full body and nice smooth mouthfeel. Finishes smooth and boozy with delightful caramel and toffee flavors with a bit of oak and warming alcohol. A nice winter beer, but so good I wouldn’t mind it anytime! seehaferb23 (284) - - MAY 25, 2017
This beer is extremely amazing. Very surprising for Pelican but they knocked out of the park on this one. Cheers!

Bottle, 2015 vintage held in the cellar for just about one year. Dark brown pour with a finger of creamy tan head. Powerful aroma centered around the barrel treatment; bourbon, vanilla, caramel, and hints of hops. The flavor is truly terrific and one of the best barreled barley wines I can recall to date… lots of barrel influence without being overly hot or too firm in center stage. Big bourbon sweetness, vanilla, caramel, dark fruits, a little wood, and just enough hops. I’ve heard that this can be pretty hot when fresh; I can only attest to a bottle with a year of age on it; fantastic stuff. robforbes (2267) - Bremerton, Washington, USA - MAR 26, 2017
