3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cloudy orange with lots of delicious looking head. Aroma is bready, sweet. Taste is floral, with small hops , some cereal and maybe bananas? reminiscent of a weizen. Body is on the thin side. Good overall. B
500ml bottle conditioned: BBE Jan 16. Poured at home into an Abbot Ale glass tankard on 12th Aug 15. Could only get half the beer out of the bottle, so big was the head and the beer so lively. Hazy dull amber/orange body, the huge head off-white and alive! Yeasty, almost home brew in aroma with malts pushing the hops into a distant second place scent wise. The taste more an equal blend, Pale malts and semi-bittering hops marry together quite well and give a good overall feel to the flavouring. Another Welsh beer and brewery to my collection, this offering was more OK than live changing or interesting. minutemat (5938) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - JUN 23, 2015
500ml bottle from Fire & Ice, Narberth. Pours amber with slight haze and a bubbly white head. Light malty aroma. Taste is thin with light hops, stale water and an off-putting bitter finish. Not the best Pen Lon I’ve tried. gegwilson (3784) - North Yorkshire, ENGLAND - NOV 17, 2013
Another cloudy ale from Pen-lon despite having sat for 4 days. Amber with a thin white head. Slight yeast and hop aroma. Same again with the taste. A little citrus but quite a bit of home brew character from the yeast. TEJA (3199) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - SEP 20, 2012

Bottle at thewolf’s Kolding tasting, 15 May 2008. Amber colour. Rather yeasty aroma. A modicum of fruit and a lick of citric hop, providing some bitterness, on the palate. Fourth Pen-Lon beer of the tasting. A little more tasty than the other Pen-lon beers but the general pattern continues; pleasant and easygoing but scarcely exciting. A rather plain regulation bitter.

bottle, from Darts Farm. Hazy amber-golden yellow, large and foamy head. Aroma of bitter orange and hops. Light-bodied but full of flavour. Malt, caramel and bitter orange, as well as a touch of lemon. Refreshing, clean and crisp. Gethinbeer (2452) - Nova Scotia, CANADA - AUG 9, 2008
Aroma was fresh, bitter with hops, little fruit in there maybe. Cloudy orange appearance with a thin lace. Bitter pale ale with a bit of caramel. Tangy finish. Nice ale.
