Very average effort. Not sure that a pils is supposed to have a funky sweetness that lasts after you put the glass down. I think they forgot that hops are an important ingrediant... argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - AUG 13, 2003
Bubbled clear light amber topped by quickly dissipating beige head. Aroma is sweet butterscotch, caramel, floral, light earthy. Taste is butterscotch up front, followed by caramel, floral, before finally finishing earthy bitter. Medium body, some crispness at the end. A decent beer, but I would have liked it much better without the butterscotch. bac080 (398) - Bloomington, Illinois, USA - AUG 7, 2003
Draft. Initial taste is strange, not sure how to describe it. Otherwise a fairly bland pilsner. austinpowers (2832) - San Francisco, California, USA - JUL 21, 2003
Be warned! This is a very malty, copper-colored, hoppy pilsener that is in no way related to what you are likely expecting. It's a veritable malt-fest. dberger624 (1028) - Voorhees, New Jersey, USA - JUL 7, 2003
Bottled. For a pilsener this was pretty good. Had a nice malty flavor. Poured a nice copper color.

The best of the PA beers imo but thats not saying much. You won't see me turning down an ice cold bottle of it though. MilkmanDan (1943) - Eagan, Minnesota, USA - JUN 19, 2003
Bright gold, very pretty. Nose is sugary and a bit hoppy. Overly sweet in the flavor, tastes like sugar was added to the mix. Decent hoppy bite at the end. manolager (20) - Kansas, USA - MAY 15, 2003
Had this beer at the brewery and shipped to me in bottels. Excellent pilz, clean finish. beerguy101 (5360) - Newark, California, USA - APR 5, 2003
Medium amber color. Small head. Aroma is malty and slightly sweet. A medium bodied pilsner. Darker colored and very malty and hoppy for a pilsner. Perhaps it supposed to be a cross between a Pilsner and an amber? Malts are nutty and slightly sweet. Hops are citrusy. Touch of orangish flavor in the taste. I’m not sure what this beer is supposed to be, it not a pilsner and not an amber or Vienna. Its somewhere between the two and gets sort of lost somewhere along the way. Its drinkable but lacks any sort of identity. Mouthfeel is round. Finish is dry. Aftertaste is slightly bitter. Strykzone (7560) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - APR 3, 2003
An outstanding beer. Kudos to the brewers on this one. Only negative is a slight aftertaste, but it is not significant. A very good beer.
