Bomber shared at Scottyp’s housewarming tasting. Pours a very dark brown with clear mahogany highlights and fair light tan head. Nose of roast, and oats, and fades to chocolatey tones in the flavor. Some cardboard notes come out too, but this is still a fun beer. Barrios (1243) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - SEP 3, 2009
Lasting ring of beige head. Dark brown body. Aromas of floral and roast. Very roasted taste. Roasted, thin finish. ChainGangGuy (4918) - Woodstock, Georgia, USA - SEP 2, 2009
Appearance: Pours a near black body with some ruby-hued hints at the edges and capped with a medium-sized, ivory-hued head.
Smell: The nose is comprised of light roasted notes smelling of thinned out molasses, Breakfast Blend coffee, nuts, half a Tootsie Roll, and fruit.
Taste: Assortment of roasted malts tastes - mild coffee, sweetish Tootsie Rolls, more nuts, and charred grains. Subtle hint of dark fruitiness. Spicy Noble hops blend with the roastiness from the blackened malts. Larger toasty caramel tones on the latter half. Drying finishes with lingering hints from the hops and roasted malts.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Smooth mouthfeel.
Drinkability: A solid, satisfactory Schwarzbier that goes down easy. kp (10881) - Woodstock, Georgia, USA - AUG 31, 2009

The pour reveals a black color with brown highlights and a thin light brown head. Pleasant aroma of roasted malt and chocolate. Good flavor of roasted malt, and chocolate / coacoa. Very interesting and well-done.

22 oz bonus bottle from tendermorsel on BA. Pours a cola brown with no real head. Nose opens up with some caramel, pale and black malt tones. Flavors are cola like with caramel, and malty tones. There is a nice hop bitterness to go with this beer too. Additional notes of black pepper and brown sugar. Mouth is medium bodied with a mild hop bite to it. unclemattie (4357) - Georgia, USA - AUG 14, 2009
22oz bottle. Black, reddish-brown pour. Light brown colored head. Aroma of burnt grains. I love black patent malts! Some coffee, sweet cereal. Flavor has a nice nut character, lots of roast, burnt grain, and good bit of dark chocolate. Very clean. Sharp, bold roast character. Thin texture. Leaves a well balanced noble hops bitterness on the palate. This beer for the style is so F’n good. I absolutely love it! What a great session beer. I would open a bar just to have this on tap at all times. Long live the Schwarzbier, Prost! Damn this beer makes me HAPPY. fredandboboflo (1570) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 7, 2009
Bottle. Aroma of chocolate, cocoa, light roasted malt. Flavor adds some nuts and bread. Pretty dry. Pretty tasty, seemed weak at first but grew on me. WeeHeavySD (3387) - Portland, Oregon, USA - AUG 7, 2009
Tap at Barcade with nyc gang. Pours black with a touch of brown, with a light brownish tan head. Nose has light coffee notes. Taste is swet, coffee with a touch of chocolate. TURDFERGUSON (4058) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - AUG 4, 2009
Bottle shared by Mike. Thanks! Nose and flavor show some smoke, chalk, and roast. Nice and on point for the style.
